The issue of dissociation by this particular tribe in Nigeria is a very critical issue that need to be viewed with the lens of equity and justice. This is no more a news as the case has repeated itself over and over again, and if something is happening to someone repeatedly in the same pattern then the main denominator is the person.

Therefore, the Igbos need to search deep within themselves and do justice to the urgent question that is been asked over the time, WHY ARE THEY DISSOCIATING THEMSELVES?

EGOISM: Out of ego, they developed too much egocentric complex for themselves and so they suffer from the malady of egocentric disorder. This self esteem syndrome made them believe to be superior above other tribes and then tend to dominate them. And once they failed in their efforts to dominate, they are forced to dissociate from others.

PAROCHIALISM: They are motivated by greed, tribal-hatred and narrow-mindedness which bring about confusion that affect the unity of the country.

POWER CONSCIOUS: They chase after POWER like child chase after honey, forgetting that POWER without public acceptance and connection is catastrophe. One thing about leadership is that you must first win the confidence of the people and the same thing applicable to POWER, without people support you can hardly achieve your aim.

SUPERIORITY & INFERIORITY COMPLEX: Igbo believes they are superior to other tribes and they should be in control of the affairs of others. This self-overrated position led to the beginning of their failure. When they perceived in their mind that they are not fit to successfully live among others, because they failed in the power gain with the supposed inferior tribes and there is no possibilities of having it in the future. They believe they should rather go different way than competing in the system that is not favourable to them.

LACK OF TRUST: No section of Nigeria can trust any Igbo man with the game of Power because of their greediness and display of selfishness. Can any tribe give the control of this country to the people that cannot be trusted and drag the nation to civil war?

Majority of those clamouring and agitating for break-up are drive by their selfishness and parochial interest and have successfully brainwashed their followers by poisoning their mind against other tribes in the country to see them as their enemies.

The Igbo Nation need to work and unite with every other sections of the country to achieve their goals and objective if the need be. It is not possible to fight everybody and win the battle, you have to be in good relationship with some people so that you'll have solicitor among them to back you up and to be a sincere confidant in your agitation. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that...

You nail it, but honestly this is the high time they think and come together. For better Nigeria, they can not continue like that.

The Eastern part of the country has done themselves more harm than good and have lost a lot by their attitude towards some certain aspect of the nation especially politics. An average Igbo man truly believes he is better and superior to every other black race and that is why other tribe that stoop to conquer differ. Their is need for every man to humble and lower himself to be raised and their is no need to perceive any tribe as inferior or superior.

Historically the greediness of Igbo for power was the bane of Nigeria unity. Igbo was the one to carryout coup to truncate the first democratic government, they shot the first salvo of disunity and rivalry in Nigeria. The killing of all political leaders from North and the Southwest and protection their own leaders instigated counter-coup in 1967 and led to civil war in which over 3 million Nigerian was killed. Its high time Igbo retrace their steps and apologize for instigating disunity in Nigeria.

We may have different religions but that doesn't mean we should not love ourselves... We may be different in tribes and that does not mean we cannot work together to achieve the aim of better Nigeria. We may have different languages but that does not stop us from making our impact in the development of the country. You are Igbo or Hausa and I am Yoruba, Nigeria belongs to us all... We suppose to love ourselves as one nation. There is nothing like tribe when they fought for Independence. There is nothing like tribe when they fought for Democracy. Why are we isolating ourselves from other tribes? We ought to be united and preach the gospel of love among ourselves and stop the act of disunity and dissociation in the country.

How long will we continue to live in disunity and hatred for one another? Where will hate lead us to in this country? The Igbos are a respected tribe in this nation, just like any other tribe, but their attitude of trying to sideline themselves and get into power by all cost is becoming alarming. The earlier they realise that dissociating themselves will only relegate them in the affairs of this nation, rather than make them relevant, the better! We all own this nation, and we must strive to make it great. Peace.

We were groom in oneness, love and with the belief of self reliance. Our ideology of self belief, unity, strength, faith and hope cannot be contested among the great black power of African continent, we were indeed the giant of Africa........Our peaceful co-existence was truncated in January 15 1966 by the coup led by the 5 majors in which Major Kaduna Nzeogwu was the ring leader........Aftermath of the war, what did we see? The end of the war mark the famous speech "No win winner, no vanquish" but in our right senses, we knew winner and the losers knew themselves........The Igbo should learn from the past mistake and embrace unity of purpose and stop being brainwashed and lord by miscreant and delusional thing called Nmadi Kanu who have betrayed his mission before agitation for biafra.

My best and candid advise to our brothers and sisters from South East and other parts of Nigeria is to sit right retrace our steps and stop the chanting of war songs and buckle ourselves up in unity and peace the way our fathers created and want it to be. Break up is easier to say than be done. No reasonable business man and industrialist with huge amount of investment within and outside his own region will pray for Nigeria breakup, because they all know the implication and negative effect it will have on each and everyone of them. The war wound can never be healed even if healed the bad memory scar will be there till eternity. A mansion can be demolish within twinkling of an eye but may not be able to be rebuild in 100 years. Therefore we should allow peace to reign in Nigeria and move our dear country forward

They will certainly dissociate themselves because that is what happens when inferiority is combined with egoism. They perceivede themselves too much more important and better than the rest while the truth remains that they are the most backward and most minority. One thing I have discovered about the issue of igobs dissociating themselves from the rest of the tribe is that...If a child live and grow up with too much self complexity , he will learn to love himself but others...he will eventually suffer from self love. This is the state where majority of igbos find themselves now.

Nigeria has always been in a unity despite difference in tribe and religion until the Igbo people came up with the idea of dissociation....the question is why this agitation for dissociation??..why should their leaders keep on agitating for this have we forgotten that it is only in love that we can achieve greatness.....we should not see others as enemy...One Nigeria is the key..

Greediness, sentimentalism, parochialism, nepotism, superiority & inferiority complex, tribal hatred and egocentrism are the factors affecting the Igbos which cause the dissociation and isolation in the country. They ought to know that this country belongs to us all and we are all equal in the politics of Nigeria. They need to realize that isolation cannot do them good but bad...

This is nothing but the blunt truth that my Igbo brothers and sisters will not want to hear. Igbos have great potential and have knowleadagle people, but the truth is that they want to have everything all to themselves, which is not making sense. It is important that different tribes come together with their ideologies and perspective to make this nation great again...Division will lead us nowhere!

It is very obvious that Igbos are indeed bereft of Nigeria political structure, system and strategy and that is why they will always be found wanting the the system. If only they can handle politics the way an average Igbo man handles businesses, then they will be at the fore, until then, the igbos will always be behind in politics due to their disassociation and continuous call for Biafra. No tribe or race or color is more superior to the other in any part of the world and truly Igbos really need to address this issue if they are no make any concrete impact in the political arena in the country.

This thread has been so entertaining for me. Don’t worry about igbos. We will be fine. Worry about your children whom UNICEF declared earlier this year of suffering from severe stunted growth.

Worry about Fulani herdsmen
Worry about your illiterate president
Worry about your failing economy
Worry about Boko Haram

Your problems are endless. I can spend a whole day listing them.

The one in need of worry here is no one but yourself. Listen to yourself, "we will be fine"...how? It is apparent is that you have lost focus long time ago, and and being fine is too far away from you. What you guys should be much more worry about now is how to find your long lost master (Nnamdi Kanu) that has become a fugitive.
Even one of your leaders wrote..."there was a country" which simply means there was once a country but the country is no more. Wise up bro...your way is no way
