A socio-cultural organisation, De Renaissance Patriots, has expressed concern over the manner Lagos State patrimony is shared among non-indigenes from other South West Yoruba states through the use of state political powers and in connivance with some indigenes.

The group made the complaint in its third release since it was established to lead a better Lagos State for the indigenous people.

The group, in a press release titled, “The Lagos Indigenes and the Case of Social Misdevelopment, said, “The above topic is apt and at this stage, if you are an indigene or you truly love Lagos State, you should feel disheartened about current state of things.

It took its note from the standpoint of recent development where revelations were made about how non-indigenes have either been taking “fake” indigeneship letters or buying the same to use the slots meant for Lagos indigenes for recruitment into the Nigerian Army.

While taking note of the official comments from the Army and its promised action on the matter, De Renaissance Patriots requested the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, “to please use his good offices to look into this matter and, if true, interrogate and stop it. There must also be consequences for this criminal act.”

It said, “We resolved some months back to hold our peace with the thoughts that our people have not been taught enough lessons to wise up to their current situation. However, as concerned Omo Ibile Eko, we cannot continue to maintain that silence.

They are MAD. The only natives if Lagos are the Eguns, any other group claiming natives should be prosecuted for attempted usurpation.

I am an Egba man, my family came from the current Ogun State into Lagos. The Aworis are from far away current Osun. The Ijebus including the Ikorodus and Epes are never Lagos indegenes. The Kwarans who have dominated Lagos for years came from fat away because there was and there is still nothing in their state, likewise the Edos.

The Brazilian and Ivory Coast slaves that were dumped in Lagos by the slave merchants will never ever become Lagos indegenes, that is why one cursed Shinedu Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour was abusing his forefathers in Brazil the other time. Brazilians will always be Brazilians.

Only the Eguns can legitimately claim to be indegenes of Lagos. Unfortunately for the Eguns, we Egbas, the Aworis and the usurping Kwarans have relegated the Eguns because the Eguns did not embrace Western Education in time

The journalist or useless blogger that wrote this is only interested in pushing propaganda to generate views.

The statement the group released was different from what the useless blogger wrote.

They requested for the Chief of Army staff to look into how some northerners wanted to use Lagos slots to enter the army, there was no where other South west states or anything like that were mentioned in the statement but blogger will do anything to generate traffic these days even if they have to twist an harmless statement and make it as controversial as possible.

I knew it would have been impossible to make your submission without dragging the Igbos into your problem.

Indigenes of Lagos told you migrants from Osun and Kwara to let them breathe in their state, but the only card you had to play was to go anti-Igbo, because you believe it is the only way to unite yoruba according to 'Ronu propaganda' script. grin

So what happens if the country splits and there are no Igbos you can insult to unite yourselves?

I guess you will go back to your intra-yoruba Kiriji wars which would have continued if the colonialists did not stumble upon your tribe? grin

The problem with the emboldened statement in your asinine post is that when it suits, you bask in the accomplishments of those you label as 'Brazilian slaves'.

Has it ever occurred to you that our people who fell victim to that heinous trade were never willing participants?

Today the descendants of repats/returnees are to be regarded as foreigners, on your altar of political expediency; yet give another week or month from now, and you would duplicitously celebrate some feat that owes its origins to their earlier achievements.

By the way, I believe a section of the Rhodes-Vivour family actually dropped its anchor with the ruling party warts et al. Do you pour scorn and ridicule on their "Brazilian" forebearers too?

This is anticipated.
When you migrate from osun and oyo to dominate indigenous lagosians and demolish houses in the state, it will earn you nothing but resentment.

Lagos is known for allowing non indegens to dominate them.
Tinubu is from Osun, Osibanjo from Ogun, James Faleke is from Kogi, Aregbesola is from Osun, Lai Mohammed is from kwara. All these are men that ran and still running Lagos though they are from other states. If an Osun man can be governor of Lagos or a Kogi man a member of house of Representatives why can't a kaduna man represent Lagos State in the Army where he is willing to lay down his life?

Well, Lagos was for many decades the capital, and also is still the main business capital of Nigeria. It was also open to foreigners from around the 15th century self.

At the end, it was never going to be a 'one tribe city'.

Abuja is becoming like that too. Kaduna too has more non-indigenes than indigenes.

As far as the natives of Lagos believe that all Yorubas own Lagos, they should be ready to share lucrative positions with their siblings.

Classic Lagos PDP politics. They used same line with Obanikoro and Agbaje. The De Renaissance Patriots aka Omo Eko Pataki is PDP. Bode George is the chairman of the group, and they endorsed GRV last election after dumping Jandor.
