I wonder how she survived all those years of crisis because I am sure that at the time she was born people were ignorant about genotype. Thank God for her life.

Broadcasting someone's ailment is now a trend now? It's okay, after all she's lived life more than those who haven't even experienced headache once but still died.

Why would an AS want to take a gamble with another AS or SS ?

It's called stupidity ........ Not LOve
Do you know most of the parents were not aware of their Genotype before getting married?

It's not the end of the world but people should be aware of their genotype and save the pains their children may suffer for negligence.

Prevention is still the best. I can't imagine how much goes to her medical bills, how many families can afford that? Asides that, it is a life of constant pain.

Before you go too far in a relationship, know your genotype, end it before it becomes too difficult, love enough cannot overcome it.

I have seen and heard very loving couples get torn apart because of a sickle cell child.

I have seen a sickle cell patient abandoned at National hospital by his very wealthy parents.
Exactly, she doesn't look like she's not being properly taken care of. How many families have the money to treat a sickle cell patient for 94 years. Best thing is know one genotype and avoid heartbreak.

I have an uncle who is a sickler. He is in his early 40s now and living fine.
I heard he suffered terribly when he was younger. I could remember when he was in medical school, this guy used to fall sick almost every other day. A good thing about him is that he is extremely intelligent, and that explains how he was able to pass medical school with all the pains and illness.

He's a medical doctor today and doing fine for himself.
