I wonder what percentage he contributed, after given a playing time of 80mins+.a young boy who is too lazy to use his youthful age to give any defence line the fight of their life. He should be benched against Argentina. Little wonder he can make the first eleven in Leicester.

So after he expertly beat the goal keeper, he expected him to serve him the ball on a platter of gold.

Let him go and work hard; that's what his mates are doing
People with little space to think remain one of the reasons Nigeria is perpetually backward. Musa was inches away from being blocked by the goalkeeper. Iheanacho made the gesture when he saw the goalkeeper rushed out to stop Musa. At that point, it was natural for Iheanacho to ask for the ball. Next time it might be Musa who will be asking for the ball and would be ignored hence score or no score. Nigerians should learn to not be selfish.

Yeah...that's what I was saying,as if someone is holding them back not to be confident and play like they want a result.

Only Musa has been confident both in marking and dribble.

The other guy we are missing now is Osaze Odenwegwe...the guy can run with ball and like counter games...only God knows those responsible for his down fall.
yeah, I prefer Osaze Odemwingie to that Victor Moses, After Musa's effort that hit the crossbar fell to him, See hw he wasted the ball

Thumbs Up to Super Eagles. They did their work remarkably. Let's make history on Tuesday by FINALLY sending Messi to his international retirement... Amen!

He was looking for stolen glory. Yes, the post was at his mercy, gaping like the insatiable mouth of hell. But he well could have fluffed his lines. With Naija people anything came happen. His mother's rivals could magically holed up his legs at that point.

Passing the ball would draw the defender out to intercept the ball and iheanacho might miss the chance

Iheanacho good linkage with the midfielders is a major reason why our attack looked decent today.

Ighalo would have isolated himself.

Iheanacho starts on Tuesday.
He is a pitch introvert

One of the reason Nigeria could attack well is because Kelechi does smart things with the ball much quicker than Ighalo does. Trust me his presence had an immense impact though he has not yet contributed individually.
This your comment is contradictory. How can "his presence had mmense impact" yet he has "not contributed individually"?

What individual contribution can he make again?

I really don't see the point of this thread!

You guys realise there are some on here who are actually abusing Iheanacho with that quip that he would have 'missed it like Yakubu', yet you all laugh along like moro'ns!

What if Iheanacho views this thread, what do you think it will do for his confidence in the run up to the Argentina game?

So you expected him to stand there with hands on hips without asking for the ball? Is there any striker that would behave differently in such a scenario?

It's quite subtle, but i detect a slight undercurrent of bigotry and tribalism from the OP and some of the responses on this thread!

Carry on with your 'fun'!
Don't stress yourself too much with what you read here. Those guys on pitch are professional that have grown past all these petty nairaland tribalism.

I'm actually laughing at some of the comments here and sometimes when i laugh at comments, i shake my head at the way Nigerians reason. if Musa had missed that ball, Nigerians would have been saying "Why im no pass the ball. Na selfish player" but because he scored it, no wahala, let's move on.

Mikel is trying but he is over rated...the likes of Lukas Modric,Matic can move with the ball and even score goals...I still don't know why is yet to retire from the team.Iwobi is young and can run with the ball without doing the back pass.Someone who has confidence to face his opponent and move fast.
I would prefer an Nwakali to a Mikel.

Sometimes reducing the pace of the game could be tactical when you're trying to killing the tempo of the game when its already won. That's the reason Ighalo starting the first game was a fail but coming on from the bench yesterday was on point. But most online coaches like you would never analyze the game from that point. undecided
A game is not won until the final whistle is blown , you should know that if you really know what coaching is all about ( at least for a two goal margin ). Why turn the tempo down when you are clearly ahead on goals and you are obviously pressing the opposing team huh . I have seen a football match turn around from a 3:0 lead at 80mins to end at 3:4 full time.

This world cup should have been used to groom a replacement.

I don't see why we couldn't take good very young midfielders like the Nwakali brothers along with Mikel to the world cup .

They don't even need to start, but I am sure they would have replaced Mikel in the competition when they finally play.

Look at what they did against atletico.

Funny...he is yet to impress me in this world cup,I mean Kelechi my guy.

See my sig to get more world cup tips...we won all our predictions for yesterday with a stunner of X/1 htft BTW Nigeria and Iceland.
I beg to disagree ooo, I think Kelechi really tried in that match, unlike Ighalo he tracked back many times to help the midfield and it was Kelechi that started the run that led to the first goal, he collected the ball and made a good pass to Victor Moses who then crossed to Musa. In my opinion I think Kelechi deserves some accolades

Really? So what are you on about...dear lady coach? To teach a man who was employed to do his job or what? huh

Ok for what exact reason was Ighalo introduced in the 80+ mins of the game against Iceland? If you are really the keen keyboard manager that you intentionally want to become...you should've noticed that the players from both sides were already tired at that point...eg our own Moses was even at a strolling pace at a point on the pitch and tactically the best thing any good coach will do is introduce players who can put pressure on the opponent as well as keep possession in our own advantage, hence he introduced Ighalo + Iwobi (Who are both ball holding players in our team) into the frame. It's not only when you attack relentlessly you keep possession (at least Barcelona fc shows us all the time how that is done).

P.S: It's not even impossible feat to defend a 1 goal lead much less a 2 goal lead. Coaches like Mourinho, Diego Simeone et al are all proponents of such tactics and it doesn't seem to me as rocket science to pull it off.

So i'll ask you again what are you on about lady keyboard manager?
