I don't hate on any one's success but can someone please remind the English peeps that Panama is not exactly a power house in football and this is still group stage.

The comments I'm reading on BBC is simply churning my stomach! Those guys actually think they've won the world cup....... shocked angry

Eeya!

Seems you're new to the WC circle of the English.

Don't worry. Very soon, they'd crash out and the fans would tear their team a new one. Ever wonder why everyone dislikes the English team in every World Cup? This is why!

That said, I think Southgate is doing a good job with the side. I don't think they're contenders just yet, but if they retain him regardless of their WC performance, he could model them in time to contend for the 2020 Euros.

Messi isn't winning anything with the national team. I will be cheering any team he comes against. I really hope he gets knocked out because of people like you.

Not because of people like him but because you personally don't like Messi, & it's normal & understandable. Don't blame the guy for your beef for Messi, oga!

Fair game to you, everybody has the right to support who the want to support, irrespective of Religion, Country or race, it may not be very ethical or should I say justified, but your right is your right.

But I have mingled with some of these Americans and Europeans, the will never support Nigeria or any African country to win in anything even though the have nothing to lose or gain in the competition, the rather support their closest neighbour or boycott the whole competition.

It's mostly Black Africans that are quick to support Messi, C Ronald, Hazard against their respective countries, I won't say this is bad or inferiority complex, that's just the way the world is structured.

I was like you before, always supporting Foreigner super stars ahead of my people, but after my first hand experience with these folks, f%:%ck that shiit man

I may bad mouth Nigeria, may call it a zoo, but I will support any Nigerian athlete, footballer, artist ahead of any godamn foreigner, as far as they are in the same competition.

When you realise how less of a fucccck most Foreigners give about Africans, you may change your mindset

You're taking it too far. How can you expect other countrymen to support us blindly like our citizens when we don't have any stellar player (in the class of Messi and Ronaldo etc) that they know?

If Nigeria plays Portugal of course I'll support Naija cos im Nigerian and it's my choice, though i admire Ronaldo greatly.

On the other hand, i could support Portugal cos of Ronaldo over Nigeria. It wont make me less patriotic, it's just a game and my support won't in any way affect the result.

I won't go into the Messi side of things cos im not a big fan of his.

Chill bro it's just a game

Football isnt war, the English clearly have better skill and experience ; it's good to celebrate small achievements especially when the odds are against you. I love their courage

This should be a big lesson to us all. What you always mourn about that is too little is enough to make some people in other parts of the world happy forever. I believe that the Panamanian were happy to be remembered that they too scored at least a goal in the 2018 world cup. When you appreciate little you receive more blessings

Greatzeus:

Stop embarrassing yourself here sir,you have been mentioning Joy since,I didn't want to quote, what you feel when your team wins is not Joy at all. That's why it doesn't last, you were sad when your club was disgraced out of Uefa championship right? You ee what I mean,Joy has no physical or material source, you just feel it,it embraced all inner being,it's always there, whether you are sick or healthy, broke or rich, win or lose.
A Barca/ Messi fan committed suicide in Argentina 2 days ago because Argentina lost,Barca has won lots of marches,so has Argentina, yet all the previous victory couldn't console him and take away his sorrow and sadness for losing that game against Nigeria, because he has been feeling happiness all this while whenever Messi wins, but when he lost, all the happiness disappear, leaving sorrow.
No man or sport can give you Joy, nothing you see can give you Joy,Joy is permanent, happiness is transient.
Joy is not a result of acquiring but a state of inner peace and contentment. Nobody can give you that only God.
Stop sounding like a religious fanatic.

Joy in the context means happiness for the moment not a permanent state. Same way we eat get and satisfied only to eat again after a couple of hours because the earlier satisfaction was for the moment/period not permanent.

When I say Messi/Barcelona gives me joy, I mean each time I watch him/them play I feel happy and satisfied (at least for the most time) it is something of relative permanence.

Oga, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa are better than NIGERIA! Except you aren't informed properly thats when you will argue this and their respective football teams give them JOY, not just them but also lovers of the game all over the world. Why won't their fans back them? Football is incomplete without these two teams.

Oga, no offense, but is your head correct at all?

No be you open that stewpid tread "Kenya is better than Nigeria"?

Now I see that there's no iota of patriotism or loyalty in your blood at all.

And na still the same you that will come here and be campaigning for PDP.

If I talk say make thunder fire your black ass, you go talk say I do bad.

Nigeria is not a perfect country but Nigeria is the best.

This is not a matter of choice. People like you are the problem of this country (the "world" being too general). Simple loyalty is hard to come by even though it is one of your duties.

You watch Messi week in and out sums up into what? Has he done any better since the World Cup started?

Only an alien will bring such pathetic excuse to play here. Nigeria is your country, not Barcelona. Support your country. It is your duty.

Wow! You are amazing.
