joe10:joe10, I am sorry about the outcome of your visa application. Please pardon me that I was unable to answer your questions on time, I have been so busy lately and I find it very difficult to answer questions that are thrown in here. I only do so, at my convenient time. To add to what Hisignature has just said, Looking closely at your profile, the Visa officer is not after your financial sufficiency, either the visa officer has doubt about your return back home after studies. As I always say on this reputable forum, payment of upfront tuition is not a prerequisite to Visa approval. As stated by CIC applicants are expected to show proof of funds for their first year of studies at their respective bank accounts and show willingness to pay when the need arises. There was no time CIC instructed an applicant to complete an upfront tuition before visa application. Applicants that do so, only do that at their own expense, while others pay because it's a request from their institution to pay a required (compulsory) amount of tuition deposit, in order to reserve a space for them(acceptance fee). Hence, since your school is not asking you to pay tuition, you don't have to complete an upfront tuition. You may decide to pay tuition only if you were denied on the bases of insufficient funds, just to prove to the visa officer that you've the funds available. So back to business, If I may ask you Sir, What's the duration of your proposed program in Canada? Is your intended degree program higher/lower than your already completed degree program in Nigeria? These are factors you need to also put into consideration. To your questions: 1-) As long as this ICAN syllabus list will further buttress your study intent and give reasons for your return back home, I'll advise you include them in your next application. 2-) Provide little explanations on how your wife and kids tends to cope while you are away for studies, a rental income is fine. Add documents to evident this fact to be true. 3-) In as much as you did an upfront medicals along side your previous refused application, you don't need to undergo another medical test again. Simply include the E-medical slip that was issued to you at the hospital where you completed the previous medical test to your next application. The Visa officer will quickly use the UMI number that is located at the beneath of the medical slip to track your medical result and update it to your Mycic account. Furthermore, be guided that your next visa application will start afresh and will undergo the normal processing. There are high possibility that a new visa officer will review your next application, so go ahead and include relavant documents that will portray you as a genuine student that will leave Canada after studies. 4-) A bank statement is valid for 3-4weeks (1-month) at the time of visa application submission. Thus, in your case, it's advisable you obtain an updated statement for your next visa application that ends in July 2018. Above all, to be able to convince the visa officer lies solely on your efforts towards putting up a rational SOP. It shall end in praises in your next application! All the best! |

harde116:Well said my honourable Sir/Ma, Yes of course, few applicant gets their visa approvals within the space of a month, but most applicants gets above this time. I am on the notion that applicants should always try their possible best to apply early, giving CIC enough time to process their study permit application. Submitting late, most often ends up with a refusal, of which I have seen such cases countless times. So to avoid been rejected by CIC, the ideal time is to apply early. So that if mistakenly there is a turn around in the applicant application (a refusal), the applicant can quickly apply for their GCMS notes and refire. Your point is welcomed. Thank you! |

Good evening nairalanders, I am new here & I'm so glad to be part of this forum. I recently got an admission to do a 1 year certificate program on 'Community support work' in Alberta. I work with an NGO. I intend starting my Visa application this July. Pls I have some questions to ask: 1. Should I include random recommendation letters I got in the past (e.g those bearing 'To whom it may concern') 2. Is there a limit to how many recommendation letters I should include? because I plan using online application |

Jewel80:Jewel80, It may interest you to know that there are applicants that paid full tuition and submitted a huge bank statements that are far more than 21M and still got rejected based on insufficient funds. The visa officer goes beyond to examine the sponsor's earnings, motivation to sponsor the applicant, number of dependants, financial resources etc.. If you really read through my previous post where I addressed the reason for such rejection, you shouldn't have come up with this question of yours the second time. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 11:50pm On Jun 24, 2018 |
joie123:joie123, Firstly you will have to present a strong explanation for opting out for a year PGC in "Community Support work". Why you want to spend so much on this program, the lucrativeness of this program in Nigeria after studies in Canada should all be explained in your SOP. Recommendation letters are expected to come from your employer, it's very important if it's addressed to the deputy high commission of Canada. "To whom it may concern is also good but to an extent" There are no limitations for recommendations letters. All the best! |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 11:55pm On Jun 24, 2018 |
dubaiboy1:It's not important to do that on your SOP. The IMM1294 study permit application form is the best place to state the refusal. All the best! |

lonelydude:lonelydude,. Have you applied for your TRV? If yes, i'll advise you wait for the outcome of your application before pushing in for an EE/PNP. Meanwhile, as stated by CIC in the Attachement that having dual intent doesn't have a negative effect on each other. When applying for TRV you must hereby certify the visa officer beyond reasonable doubt that will depart Canada at the end of your studies, thereby providing sufficient ties that can compel your return home. Please find the attached which explains your case better! All the best

DLNEY:DLNEY, You don't have to hide the already acquired MSc certificate, considering it's related to your proposed course in canada. You're better off presenting justifiable reasons to why you opted for a second masters degree at this point in time rather than Master's. Show correlation of program with your intended program and career goals. I have seen applicants going for second masters degree and were approved of their visas. I'll advise you do the same, in as much as you're unable to get an admission for PhD. Think on how to present a standardized SOP that explains your intention for study and you will be fine. All the best! |

Engrappacino1:Engrappacino1, Aunty is required to provide a letter of sponsorship and a sworn affidavit of sponsorship. Other documents regarding sponsor source of income should also be inclusive, proof of relationship should also suffice. All the best! |

Ratawu:Respected Sir, How sure are you about this? I know fully well that an applicant application is always enclosed in a sealed black bag at VFS, which must not be tampered nor opened by anyone unless it gets to the processing office. All candidates applications are couriered to the processing office few hours once application has been received by VFS. I haven't heard nor come across VFS scanning documents, thereby leaving relavant documents that explains an applicant situation/case behind. Please I'll like to know how you came up with this ideology of yours, as I am very eager to learn from this. Thank you! |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by makano: 1:10am On Jun 25, 2018 |
I do not think this is true. All documents are sealed in a black transparent bag, and transfered to the respective procession offices. Buh if u have proofs to convince the house concerning this, it will be appreciated. Ratawu: |

vivicintia:What do you mean by application fee of 1.4m? Infact the application fee for UBC is being waived for Nigerians. In other words, you don't pay any application fee compared to other universities that charge about 60 to 120cad as application fee. |

dubaiboy1:dubaiboy1, Your uncle needs an affidavit of support, attesting that he will incur all cost during your stay in Canada, that he is fully aware of your travelling to Canada for studies, that he will make sure that funds will be made available for you during subsequent years of study, stating his relationship with you (applicant) etc... this affidavit of support will be stamped and signed by a notary public officer or commissioner of oaths in a federal high court, while your uncle signs as the deponent. It's very crucial you include it with your application. |
