Pls don't press or massage the breast. If you do it would develop into an abcess. It would go down on its own.

My mum pressed my son's own out o.

Mamas please how long must I sit on hot water to be guaranteed that my V is completely healed?

My baby is six weeks old. I gave birth with a tear and I was stitched. I did seat bath for 4weeks and stopped. But recently, I started feeling some pain inside my V, especially whenever I bend down to pick something. I don't know If I should resume the seat bath again.

Understand that everybody heals differently. Warm not hot water and besides i was stitched too and my dr told me to wait for 2-3 weeks b4 sitting on warm water. I never sat on warm water or did sitz bath. It took my 2 months b4 i felt completely fine.

You can resume d sitz bath and give your body time to heal

I know its not healthy but she throws so much tantrums and then hubby sneaks and gives it to her when i am not looking. She wont even take Gerber yogurt anymore. I will try the watermelon and orange juice but thing is will they still taste ok if not made fresh? Electricity is available but trying to blend fruits everyday is the one I don't know if I am cut out for.

I have inquired at the GH close to me and they said its only Vit A and something booster that will be given.

Noooo to Ribena daily. Woowwww, please end that. Abeg!! Our new bestie is a Food Scientist (Ph.D) and she has started explaining how our gut works and why we should not be loading up on sugar.

See, I got this cool hack. Daddy was annoying us with too much ice-cream. I got whole milk unsweetened yorghurt with pineapple, fruits and maybe a smigde of honey. Taste better than ice cream, healthier than ice cream and cures any type of constipation. Plus it is a great dessert for guests. Juice, try chilled OJ or pineapple (squeeze if you can). Watermelon is juice and fibre, just serve it chilled.

Immunization, go to a GH. I think they're still on strike but it's the cheapest. You need a HMO. MUCH CHEAPER. I'm reviewing some plans and will post on the blog this week.

Full Cream is always written on the packet. Dano's website actually says it's not suitable for children under 2 years.

Good day everyone! To every mama replying questions and making comments, you are all doing amazing. Please I have a couple of questions o.Thanks in advance for the response.

a. Besides Dano, which other full cream milk can a one year old baby take? Kerrygold and Oldenburger, are they full cream?
b. Please how much did you guys pay for one year immunization o? The cheapest I saw was 40k. Hian. I know some mamas said they paid 18k abeg point me the direction of the hospital. I dont mind anywhere as long as its in Lagos biko
c. Is taking ribena every day healthy? Like we run out of a pack every two weeks. I have tried to incorporate other drinks like tea but she wont take them. She wont even take diluted ribena. Is there any other drink I can switch her to that is healthier?
I was told on this thread to budget 23-30k for one year but I ended up spending just 6k cuz MMR & Chicken Pox have been moved to 15 months and I'm guessing they are the more expensive ones. What we got for 6k at One year is Meningococcal conjugate, PCV Booster, Vit A and OPV or something else cheesy. Forgot to ask them how much we'd spend at 15 months but I dont expect to spend over 20k.

As for Ribena, she can't talk yet so I doubt she'd remember Ribena unless you show her. My baby too takes those drinks way more than I like thanks to her dad. What I do is I never offer her any sweet drinks on my own, always comes from hubby, and I try to discourage it with excuses like it's too early, it's too late, her poo was a bit watery, even when its a lie. This way I've been able to limit intake to about twice a week. Why don't you give her water

What does the sound, sound like? It may just be nothing.

12 days and you wanna groom hair, gurl, put the comb and ribbons down grin. Her scalp is a bit too tender for that just yet. She's pretty just as she is right now (perfect skin, chubby cheeks, fluttery eyelashes)
grin grin grin Lol I don't want the hair falling off na. the sound is like an adult forcing hard poo out in the toilet and shouting...

You shouldn't be juicing watermelon, as it's 92% water already. Just give her the watermelon like that. Freshly squeezed juices don't preserve well in the fridge so if you're not up to it, don't kill yourself. But if you put oranges in the fridge, they come out chilled and delicious.

For her tantrums, well as I type this, Spud is in the midst of a full-blown tantrum. She's still alive (barely! Because I'm getting pissed and her life is flashing before my eyes dangerously) so that proves that tantrums don't kill children. We will have to do more scientific research on this tantrum thingie. ...

And the tantrum has stopped. Massive Ignoring seems to be the cure. Perhaps try ignoring your LO when she freaks out about Ribena.

As for hubby sneaking it behind your back, I too have a badly behaved husband when it comes to sugary stuff. I usually plan with my paed during visits: I tell the Dr what I want, and he comes out and tells Himself what I said, backed up by non-existent medical jargon the Dr just made up. It's working! Himself believes in fake Maltina that causes Kidney relapse, hard sweets and Ribena causing allergic reaction due to Tannin and glucose levels.

I also use his mum and my mum, so they can call him and in the middle of discussing family meeting, go "OMG papa Emeka was crying to me, Emeka's teeth have all rotted off and he's just 14 months!".

Because I got tired of arguing and always being the "Bad Guy" when it came to saying no to sugary drinks everytime.

Himself knows most of these shenanigans are false, but he goes along with it.

It's normal with exclusively breastfed babies. Mine stayed 3 weeks without pooing. I got so scared and allowed MIL to put metholatum in his bum hole which made him poo. However when it happened again, I went to the hospital and the Dr confirmed it was normal. Said something about him absorbing/utilising all he was been fed and none to waste.

Thank you ma'am, he finally pooped this morning. It was a big time blowout!

She takes orange quite well. I haven't tried watermelon. I hope she takes it. She is quite the picky eater. Does not eat beans, plantains, egg etc. Don't know where she got it from.

Trying telling hubby that tantrums don't kill children and he is ready to kill you cheesy cheesy. Always says no way he is standing by and watching her cry for something he can give her. I always ask, so what if she is crying for something that is not good for her and he would reply where did they say Ribena is not good? Smh. Quite tired of the two of them.

Where in Lagos dis you pay 6k? Help me!! Wait, after 12 months there is still 15months? Is there also 18months? I don't know what to do about the Ribena ish. She used to drink water very well, so we'll that everyone was commending me for helping her take water and then one day she had Ribena and that was it. She only takes water when she is eating or done eating. Any other drink is Ribena. Sometimes two packs a day. So tired of it.

My DD ate rice around 6pm yesterday and after an hour she started vomiting. Altogether she vomited thrice within 7--9pm. She was playing as usual after each vomit, she was even very much active, it's just d vomit. No poo, no high temperature. We decided to jus watch her but around 1am she started running serious temperature, her body was so hot we had to mop her to keep it down. She's started coughing too, like continuous coughing. and I notice rashes all over her body. We have always been battling with rashes off and on since she was 3 month but her skin was clear as at yesterday but between yesterday 10pm and 3am rashes jus full her body and she's scratching it vigorously. I hope all is well. We should be at d hospital to see a paed this morning before 7am. She's 11 month today!

Sorry about the daughter's condition, it seems like a severe allergic reaction. Please I think u should take her to d hospital asap cos if it is an allergic reaction it would probably get worse and may start to affect her breathing. Thankfully, there's usually an injection that can help...please just take her to the hospital it would be treated as an emergency

Steam works better.
I initially did the warm sitz bath but I started feeling those v pains. I switched to steaming , the pains disappeared

Hopefully too on her behalf all will be wel, also try and make a mental note of everything she ate, drank and play items and area.
You may notice a pattern which could help identify the cause/causes.

Try freshyo, I think it's a better alternative to Ribena that's just coloured flavoured water, and keep it out of her sight and reach! Let her not see you bring it out that way she won't have anywhere to point to nor cry.
