Long overdue, visa fees to usa and all these european countries are also very exorbitant and they keep increasing so they should simply cooperate
And you think the Nigerian Visa fees for these countries are cheap right? Just take a look at the fees charged by Nigerian Immigration on their website before you talk please. And besides, it seems people that have never applied for a Visa are the ones supporting this daylight robbery otherwise known as policy of doing business with ease in Nigeria. Where is the ease of doing business here, when you charge people fees you have not made known to them in any form? And you charge everyone including those who do not have interest in doing any business in Nigeria, but are just visiting families. Nigeria is a very fraudulent country.

I guess u meant those who always apply for visa will react to support the decision.I visit one of these countries often and i discover each time i want to renew my visa it is always at a higher rate.Even the fees charged for english test for applicants who they compel to pass english despite applying from english speaking countries keeps going up.Medical tests which they restrict to only their own certified centres too so high and keeps increasing.I beg let them too be exploited.

The new policy imposes an additional $90 on foreigners arriving the country as Biometric Visa-On-Arrival charge, apart from the visa fees they had already paid in their respective countries before embarking on the journey to Nigeria.

Where headed thou, Nigeria? Why are our leaders and policy makers not smart? Why have our leaders and policy makers replaced their brains with fart? Only a retrogressive thinking individual would come up with a stupid visa policy such as the one recently rolled out by the Nigerian government. Since the government wanted more money from visitors travelling to Nigeria, why didn't it simply increase visa fees? Why make foreigners - investors, tourists...with valid visas pay an additiinal $110 at the Lagos airport before being let through? Isn't this robbery? Nigerian travellers should brace themselves for the impending retaliatory measures from countries affected by this new insensitive anti-globalization visa policy our government has rolled out.

So u don't know what is visa on arrival.

Absolute stupidity.

Most ‘foreigners’ who come to Nigeria to contribute to the economy are actually returnees or children of Nigerians in the diaspora. These extra fees will be a huge deterrent to those wanting my to invest.

Ohh if you're coming to invest in a country and u don't have $90 to pay for biometrics, what kind of investor is dat

yes but what was the reason given for you to pay $100? cos you do that if you have a USA issued passport.
If you going from Nigeria you do not need to go to the embassy, just buy tkt and go, unless your agent told you different.

What is visa on arrival
It usually done in cash payment at point of entry land/sea or Air ports. You do not need to attend an embassy B4 you go to these countries who offer visa on arrival, some require you to apply online B4 you get there.

well I could be depend on what passport I chose to travel to Nigeria with, if I go with my British Passport for any reason then they will ask for 90 bucks too, however like I said B4, I fly direct to PHC so I will see if this is practiced there as well.

Well, Nigeria does charge a lot. And also if you are honest with yourself, it is not farfetched for these countries to require you to conduct the test at their certified medical centre. It's a common knowledge that in Nigeria, anything goes. Why would anyone require you to learn their language to visit as a tourist or a business man? All the complaints you have made are about Student Visa, and not general Visas. Besides, you are made aware of the requirements and attendant costs. No hidden information, hence not comparable situations.

My brother, the embassy is there for a reason. I travelled 2015 and then it was better you get your visa to avoid any issues that might arise, even though people were saying TZ is visa on arrival. The question should be why would the embassy in Abuja still collect fees for Visa, if it is not necessary?

You are not meant to go to the Embassy for visa.I know Agents would steer you to this direction cos of what they get.
Look us Nigerians are our own worse friends. If you go to Dubai to buy good even though ur goods is 1x20 container all the agents will steer you to do air cargo cos of what they stand to gain rather than do sea freight in a container which is far way cheaper. only few who are honest will do this. Sometimes it pays to do things direct.Im not saying you did not, Im just speaking in general terms.
