You may be right that sometimes, it also favour the small teams but it mostly favour the big teams when their chances of survival in the tournament is being threatened.
Anyway, you will remember what I said here by the time we get to the knock out stages.
No wahala. Let's wait and see

It is sad. The referee shocked me with the guts he took to give us a penalty. He was fair and deserves praise than criticism.
For me, it is not about the ref. It is about the rule. A rule which has never made any sense to me and will never make sense to any rational person who prefers clarity and non ambiguity in the game.

Up until 1998, the IFAB Laws of the game considered all handling of the ball as foul play and must be penalised. The 1999 laws introduced this idea of intentional/unintentional eish which has led to several controversies overtime. How does one human being determine what another human being intended to do? Unless the ref is gifted with telepathic senses, how can he posiibly know if Rojo intended to handle the ball or not?

For me, it was, is and will always be a clear penalty. One...Rojo handled the ball...Two...his handling deflected the flight of the ball from Ighalo's path and the striker only had to re-adjust himself...all of which contributed to the missed chance at goal.

We lost, yes we lost and yes we missed a few chances. The Argies missed big chances too and were not exactly better than us. It hurts to the guts to loose that match. It hurts to have Messi score. It hurts to loose to Argentina AGAIN!!!

It hurts sooo bad!!!

u just shot ursef in d leg. was rojo's arm above his head or was it outstretched? well English is not for everybody. let me make it authoritatively clear that var and d ref made d right decision cox sometimes 'intent' is considered in these type of cases. take for example umtiti and Suarez's handball. both players raised their hand above deir head with the intent of stopping a goal from going in and both players eventually handled the ball with their hands. now let me burst ur brain, even if d ball did not later land on both umtiti and Suarez's hand, a penalty wud still av bin awarded because both players had d intention of blocking the ball by raising their hands. which in any case, same cant be said for rojo. rojo headed the ball to his hand and not that he headed the ball and "raised" or "stretch" his hand to stop d ball from falling to ighalo. so channel all ur anger and frustration to ighalo who squandered two clear chances to send us tru. football is a game of chance, if u don't take it u get punished.
This your analysis is rubbish, you don't need your hand to be above your head before a penalty can be awarded. he may not have intentionally headed the ball to his arm, neither was it unavoidably. He was not being challenged, had his arms spread out wide and Igalo next to him. That is definitely a poor defending from Rojo and a clear penalty to Nigeria.
Had it been Nigeria was leading by one goal to Nil and Argentina finds themselves in this same scenario that referee would not have wasted time in awarding a penalty.
We all know Adidas is Fifa biggest Sponsor and Messi is their largest investment. That penalty decision would have been bad for business.

The officiating was fair and kudos to the Ref.,rather blame the china product Ighalo that squandered his chances.
Nothing is fair about that officiating:

This VAR issue may force many football federations to pull out of FIFA and form their own umbrella body or even join CONIFA.

That penalty was supposed to have awarded. The ball clearly touched his hand. If it would have favoured a big team like Argentina, Brazil, portugal it would have been awarded.
Re: VAR During Nigeria Vs Argentina Match: Worldwide Reactions by OrireSA(m): 9:53am On Jun 27, 2018
People who say Nigeria is not good enough are not footballer lovers, they don't have any pride in their own country.

A bit sad nigeria is out tho, But what's the essence of going past the 1st round when we all know they cant do shit
If they had managed to qualify, can they beat France?
And if they do, they would either meet Portugal or Uruguay
who dem fit beat here?
Me I need competitive teams for this world cup ooh
I'm vouching for Germany or Spain for glory though

Abeg u guys should leave matter for Mathias, penalty or no penalty we should have won that game if our players had not been that porous and lazy to chase and attack them at the ending part...Even for them to give messi space to carry ball cross our midfield was when we lost the game...They will carry ball instead of us to attack we will be moving back...when u know if u continue moving back Messi will come there dribble u and score..person go carry ball reach 18 but no one to give ball..make Una forget they tried shaa but we still have a long way to go abeg. And leave racism o sometimes u just have to be so excellent in what u do that even racism go accept defeat. After all the first penalty me no see am sef and am sure many no see am too but it was awarded.. So make Una leave this world cup and let's pray for this country and all these blood sucking demons called politicians

Could you please shut the hell up
If Ighalo had scored the goal, would you be here saying bullshit? What about the first penalty, did anyone even spot it before the ref blew? So he wasn't bias when he awarded the first penalty which wasn't even worth it but suddenly became biased afterwards sore losers.

That was one of the best ref so far in the tournament.
No sane ref would award that penalty because it didn't in anyway stop or even interrupt a goal scoring opportunity in fact it even aided the Nigerian striker and Ighalo only started protesting after he had missed a perfect chance
wasn't that mascherano attack same with truce ekong against Croatia??..wetin come be the worth aspect u dey talk off??...
