Hello gurus in the house.

@Frankrobbin
, @Glitteringstar, @Jnyuwa and all other gurus in the house. Please i need your help. I'm new here and i have been reading through, great work you guys are doing. God will bless you all abundantly.

I studied bus.admin, worked for 5 years (2008 - 2013), stopped work to take care of my children. recently completed a 2yr diploma course in fashion design and 1 year internship ending in May 2018. i have also started a small business in fashion also.

Now i want to pursue a 2yr diploma in Apparel technology in Olds College, Alberta. I already have admission letter for fall. i will be going with my 2 daughters (9 and 6).

my Husband and his Uncle are my sponsors. My husband is an employee, while his Uncle is a business owner.

Iv paid the $500 deposit requested by the school and my husband has transferred the balance of the tuition, living expenses for me and my kids to my dorm account, which is $23k

His Uncle will provide SOA of 10m balance and documents for his business.

What are my chances to secure the visa, as i will be applying online very soon.

Any ideas of what i should include in my SOP?

What other documents do i still need to include?

Please house help a sister out!!!

lennyk,

From the look of things there is strong correlation between your previous studies, intended program and job role. Endeavor to link this up while drafting your SOP.

In respect to the sponsor, let you husband be the prime sponsor to your visa application, while the uncle a co-sponsor. Also, try everything humanly possible to get an affidavit of support to support their claims of financing your studies in Canada.

Your letter of intent should reflect the following and should be addressed in each paragraphs to avoid repetition.
1-) Describe your academic background briefly.
2-) The program of choice
3-) Why the school.
4-) Why you choose Canada not Nigeria.
5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working.
6-) Family ties in Nigeria.
7-) What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future.

Other documents can be, landed documents, business assets, your university credentials, NYSC discharge certificate, share certificates (if any), etc...

All the best

post=68877789:

Good evening guys.

To those that got approval a big congratulation.

Please, i want your opinion. i have been denied four times counting from 2014. It can be so discouraging but i honestly do not want to give up.

Now, i want to try again but need your advice, who knows it might go along way.

I studied Computer Engineering and work as an HSE Supervisor. i want to apply for MSc. in Environmental, Health and Safety.

My question is this, will the VO regard my application since my Degree does not tally with my work experience.
BVNO,

Your degree mustn't tally with your work experience. Once there is a progression in career, you have no problem whatsoever. Do the necessary home work by showing correlation between HSE and Environmental health and safety in your SOP. You will be okay.

Lastly, be sure you've tackled the concerns of the visa officer before reapplying considering you've been rejected four (4) times now.

It shall end in praises.

Emmaokudu:
Good Morning Mr Frank,

My brother runs a company I work for as the procurement officer, I plan on pursing an Engineering degree in canada, He put my name as one of the directors when he was registering the company so I want to use the company as my ties back home, although its company that does engineering jobs from time to time but hardly ever so I'm not in that department

would this reason for my ties back home suffice? also, would it be a red flag that I'm currently not working as an engineer even though i have a first degree in engineering?
Emmaokudu,

Being among the board of directors in a company is a good tie to your home country. In as much as the visa officers are not custodians of knowledge, you will have to present documents to further buttress your claims to be true and a little explanations on your SOP should suffice to address this. Don't only rely on this company as means of showing ties to your home country, add landed properties documents, buildings, investments etc..

Again, to your course consistency, It's a red flag only if you can't present a rational explanation to why you left your discipline (Engineering) for so long and have been working in a non-related field and now decide to further for higher studies in (Engineering). However, the word progression can be seen by the visa officer from your previous studies, current employment and intended program... If your intended program in Canada is directly related to your previous studies(Bsc) it's also a progression. As stated earlier, you will still have to explain why you've not been following a career path since you left university.

All the best!
