Inasmuch your application has passed the normal processing times of 9 weeks you can contact them using the webform. Don't sound desperate, just remind them when you submitted and ask them if there is update. It shall end in praise

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp?_ga=2.146488819.611153655.1529209880-204023929.1523765247

Congrats to everyone with approvals already. May God guide your steps.

Seeing what some of ya'all submitted is alone to scare somebody sef, but God dey grin

Meanwhile, i applied since April 20th and i have not heard pekem from them, and yes! quite a number of people that did after that have gotten feedbacks, even though i understand that application conditions are quite different. However, i would like to contact them to know what's going on or possibly see if that would help to make it faster. How best can i go about that?

Thank you.
Cheers!

Okay so it's testimony time and I think I should also testify on this platform because aside God, all the information I got was through this thread.

I have been following this thread since 2016 and I have read every single comment unfortunately I am not the type that comments.

So I got an internship program in Turkey last year and aside gathering my documents and reading through I have been very afraid about applying from a county that my status is an intern. But to cut the long story short I was encouraged by Austinpee and Osemigho I know they may not remember, so I finally applied and 4 days after I was sent a medical request surprisingly.

Timeline
Submitted application: May9
Medical call: May 12
Medical done:May 14
Medical passed: May 17
Passport request: June 13
Passport submitted: June 17
Updatef to Approved: June 22 with my correspondence letter.
Passport pickup mail: June 22.

Documents submitted

*all CIC forms
* Letter of Explanation/SOP
*Offer of Admission letter from University of Manitoba (MA Disability Studies )
· Degree certificate and statement of result from B.Ed Special Education University of Ibadan.
*(NYSC) certificate ·
*WAEC Result
*Internship Letter of Acceptance
* Letter of Explanation from the Organisation stating my internship program, duration passport number etc

Sponsor
* Sister’s Employment: · Sister’s letter of sponsorship(LOS)
*Offer letter from where she works
*Letter of Confirmation from her current job· *Photocopy of her work ID card
*Statement of Account showing closing balance of 535,727 NGN (1,892.66 CAD)
*Employment offer letter from(previous employer)
* My SOA
* Copy of my Residence Permit and Government insurance from the school I intern
* My Investment letter
*My CV
*Copy of email between I and the registrar’s office · *Certificate of Birth
* Documents to prove the identity of my siblings ( I included all their certificates of birth and International passports data page)
* Copies of my passport data page and previous visa pages
*Copies of Certificates from where I worked/ volunteered

Note: I did not pay my tuition so my sister sent 7m to my account and stated in her letter that she send that sum as a commitment.
And lastly prayers and fasting cos honestly speaking I was very afraid given that I was applying from another country and given that I did not pay my tuition and my sister's account balance was below 1m.

Don't be discouraged.! Shalom. God can do yours.
Congratulations!

If you've completed nysc then use it. I believe that's better.

Ok, thank you, my previous job experiences have all been engineering related (3 years plus), oil prices crashed and jobs became scarce, I've worked here as a procurement officer for only about a year now,couldn't be doing nothing while looking for another Engineering job,can I send you my SOP so you'd have a look?
Frankrobbn1:

Emmaokudu,

Being among the board of directors in a company is a good tie to your home country. In as much as the visa officers are not custodians of knowledge, you will have to present documents to further buttress your claims to be true and a little explanations on your SOP should suffice to address this. Don't only rely on this company as means of showing ties to your home country, add landed properties documents, buildings, investments etc..

Again, to your course consistency, It's a red flag only if you can't present a rational explanation to why you left your discipline (Engineering) for so long and have been working in a non-related field and now decide to further for higher studies in (Engineering). However, the word progression can be seen by the visa officer from your previous studies, current employment and intended program... If your intended program in Canada is directly related to your previous studies(Bsc) it's also a progression. As stated earlier, you will still have to explain why you've not been following a career path since you left university.

All the best!

Hi Nairalanders,

i asked this question a few days ago but no answer yet, it was swamped with the testimonies. I shall testify soon, by God's grace. Amen.

Please one question, if my application number starts with ''CALA''.

Does it mean my application is being processed in Lagos?

How do i know where my application is being processed?

Thanks

Do we really have hope fellow Nairalanders, given our circumstance? I wonder why we have not be asked to do medicals after 8 weeks of application
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Phocusjosh(m): 10:03am On Jun 29, 2018
It does not mean your application is processed in Lagos and if you applied online, there is no way you can know where your application is being processed until final decision is made. I don't think you should be bothered about where your application is processed, just the positive decision should bother you more.

CALA shows your application was submitted in Lagos.

Please i need a response from someone who might have had expericence with approving or denying a canada TRV at the VFS.. i applied with my wife and infant! Months after, we received a message that in reference of our application a decision has been made, and we need to come with our passport to finalize our application processing. We had gone again to sumbit our passport to them, but some staffs in there were congratulating us.. Please, does this actually mean we are approved for visa, and they are going to stamp it.. I guess, if we were refused they shouldn't have asked us to submit our passport.. plesse enlighten !
