It is obvious that the two states are not brothers or else these assertion wouldn't have raised. Alex Ekwueme was named after federal university in Abakaliki and the Ebonyian did not revolt against it simply because of brotherhood . The most populous round About in Ebonyi state UDENSI is own by Anambraian, Awka street, ogidi street, umuoji street, umueri street, Aguata street, udemezu, sparaindo etc

My people let's live in peace. let's understand ourselves. we have so many abakiliki street in Onitsha, why not let us embrace peace. Igbos are their very own enemies, killing each other and hating each other..
The quicker ebonyi ppl know that they are regarded as second class Igbos, wawa, osu, outcasts, by orher igbo States the better for them.

Give them Biafra and in a year they will finish one another... Who remembers the man that was killed sometime in the East.. That's what i am talking about...
Massob will kill ipob, ipob will kill tripob.. Etc

My very first time in the east, i so hated that place.. And i wondered how ppl cope there, so many underdeveloped scattered settlements and only few urban areas, Aba should be the dirtirst place in the world, Onitsha should come second.

The greatest enemy of an Igbo man, is another Igbo man
abeg keep quiet. Talking rubbish.

Their inferiority complex is what is killing them, the Anambra state government with this statement has told them to go to hell and do their worst.
I have been observing you for quite a long time in this forum and only God knows what you want to achieve by spreading hate and causing rift in the Igbo nation. I used to take you serious thinking that you are a lover of good development but you are making me to think otherwise.
Please if you don't have things meaningful to suggest to resolve a problem, just keep shut rather than causing problems. it doesn't pay and also remember the law of karma.

That yoruba man is one hell of a retardd.... U can never find him in another thread where pertinent issues unrelated to igbo are discussed. Once it is biafra or anambra vs imo, that is where he is always found.

Do not mistake him for an igbo man. He never was and never will be.

Why is Ebonyi State government so curious over this. I remember NISE(a town in Anambra state) street in ABAKALIKI was renamed Douglas Ogbonna (an indigene of Ebonyi state) street, Awgu( a town in Enugu state) street was renamed idika igboji (an indigene of Ebonyi state) street, Afikpo road renamed Izzi Nnodo road, Ogoja road renamed Sam Egwu way and lot others. I think they shld look inward, correct their mess before issuing ultimatum to other states.

Am in total support of what anambra state government is doing....If they are not comfortable about it....they should rename every anambra street in Ebonyi....

I have said it before that we made a mistake retaining Ebonyi state and abakiliki to be precise as an igbo state....

And as such am advocating that if opportunity presents itself....Ebonyi should be moved to north......they are better off under Arewa......

I can't see the reason why they will remain under SE....and be fighting anambra at any slightest opportunity.....

what is all these.....They should be moved to arewa...period...

Club street remains the name of that street.

Thank u Gov Obiano.
Correct, they behave like northerners, they like fight a lot, before you know it now, they will start fighting and shedding blood, they are just too aggressive to be with igbos, too much inferiority complex is their problem, imagine Ebonyi of all states giving Anambra ultimatum, so funny of them.

I really don't know much about this case. I don't know if the naming was triggered through a friction between both states but what exactly is Ebonyi saying? I want to change the name of a road in my state and another state lays objection? I really think Ebonyi should have just kept quiet. They had no case if you ask me then they buttered it with stupidity. OK oh.
The issue is much more complex than the simple renaming of a street,Ebonyians have always felt that Anambra people looks down on them..
To them the changing of the name of the street to another is a continuation of the said discrimination and thus the reason for the uproar..

The change is cosmetic and will have no relevance to the common man that knows the road as 'Abakiliki road'. Ebonyi should have just ignored it.
I cannot imagine anyone changing 'Abakiliki road' in Enugu to anything else. The road is so entrenched that any other name will never stick.

After Gen. I.D. Bisala was executed for planning a coup, Bisala rd was changed to Independence avenue, Enugu. Till today most people still refer to that road as Bisala rd.

When an important road has carried a certain name for a very long time. Proper town planning requires that you DO NOT change it. I cannot imagine anyone changing Ogui rd or Obiagu rd in Enugu to anything else.

Havind said this, it's not up to Ebonyi house of assembly to force anything. It's an Anambra issue. They can only retaliate in Abakiliki.

The change of name was however petty and immature.
In as much as you made a lot of sense in your write up,I strongly disagree that the change of name is immature..
The only reason this is becoming an issue is because of the inherent Inferiority Complex of the Ebonyi people,if a street named Awka in Ebonyi was renamed I doubt you would see this type of uproar from Anambra for the simple reason that they really wouldn't give a sh:t..
