All 12 boys and their football team coach have been found alive after becoming trapped in a flooded cave for more than a week in Thailand.

Chang Rai governor Narongsak Osottanakorn told reporters that Thai Navy SEALs had found the group alive after nine days of desperate searching.

He added: 'We found them safe.

But the operation isn't over.

'We will bring food to them and a doctor who can dive.

I am not sure they can eat as they have not eaten for a while.'

Rescue divers spent much of today making preparations for what ended up being the final push in their search in the cave in northern Thailand.


The boys, who range in ages from 11 to 16 years old and are all members of the Wild Boar soccer team, entered the Tham Luang Nang Non cave system on Saturday, June 23, for a team outing, but became stranded in the dark tunnels by a sudden and continuous downpour.

The international rescue operation which includes 1,000 men, the Thai Navy SEALs, Soldiers, Police, divers, cave experts as well as experts from the US, China, Australia and the UK had been working to reach a large, deep chamber, informally named Pattaya Beach, where they believed the missing boys had taken refuge.

Experts in cave rescues from around the world continued to gather at the site. An official Australian group has now followed a US military team, British cave experts, Chinese life saving responders and several other volunteer groups fromvarious countries.

The boys, mostly seated and with baggy football shirts pulled over their knees, were discovered by two British rescue divers with Thai Navy seals.

In the clip a diver, speaking with a British accent, urges the group to stay calm and says 'many, many people are coming... we are the first'.

Doctors, nurses and mental health specialists are on call to treat trauma, organ failure and infectious disease.

Sometimes, people take pictures or make videos in situation like this to document their final moments incase they dont make it.

As much as I may not like to utter words of disapprobation against this contraption called a country the utmost truth has to be said..

If this had happened in Nigeria, their service if songs would have been conducted after three days even while they are still alive with V.P osibande coming to commemorate with the families of the deceased.
