I didn't see it though I was aware Tottenham, Brighton and Monaco were interested in him but I never knew such thing happened.

Anyway, all things work for good. If he moves to Liverpool then it is better.
But u were among those disseminating the false rumour from God knows where that Rohr was coercing these guys to dump their agency for a certain one said to be fancied by Rohr, otherwise he wouldn't take them to the world cup?

That article was sponsored by Toni Haris and u were one of those gullible fans who quickly bought it to support ur Rohr corruption Allegations

Which is why I said adjudged. You jump to head the ball, if your hands are above your head, it is assumed you did that because you were likely going to miss the ball, hence the rule. There is a reason for the rule in the first place. Anything done to get undue advantage call for a rule.

While running, it depends on the situation. If the ball hits my hand from behind, it wouldn’t be an infringement. If the ball approavong me was visible to me, and I had ample time to keep my hand out of the way and I failed to do so, that would be a purnishable handball.

Certitude:
You're not getting it. We can all agree on the hand above head ish but intention doesn't come into play in a handball or foul situation. You can make a case for Rojo but intentions shouldn't be part. That said, what is the natural position of your hand when running? Handball are given from such too.
Sir Goldfish80, I just saw a replay of Messi's Freekick which was saved by Uzoho. I remember you saying a goalkeeper shouldn't ne beaten on his side. I think you should stop being overly critical and give the boy credit cause it wasn't on his side.

Lol oga. Iwobi, Aina’s friend, hence we got into SE? Sir no na.

Yes we are just making assumptions. Anything can happen behind the scenes really.

forgiveness:
Aluko?

Iwobi is Aina's friend

Anyway, anything can happen. We don't know what went behind the scene.

Goodjoe, what do you think of KDB's positioning in this WC. I would have thought he would be moved upfront besides Hazard, drop Mertens and have dembele play in midfield. I think he's been underutilized but what do I know.

Currently watching debryne boss the midfield for Belgium.

Makes me wonder at how far behind Nigerian midfielders are.

Kevin Debryne brings calm and composure and hardly misplaces passes and he plays in same Europe .

The only difference I can observe is hunger, dedication and commitment to be better

I salute everybody who has contributed immensely to this thread, you guys rock. This is my first time commenting on this thread but I have been following this thread since it inception.
These are my own verdicts concerning our world cup outing

* Truth be told we have lot of average and below par players in our team

* we lack the will power to upset World in this tournament
* we also lack an astute tactian who can play to each strength of the players and help instill confidence in the team.
* The Poverty factor which affects a lot of our players background and succeeding in making them choose wrong clubs to ply their trades.

Note: two things are Involved in World cup is either you win the cup or you leave a great Mark to be remembered in years to come. If you can't do these two then it means you will surely leave with pain. Thanks

NEW: Liverpool Make €13m + Player Offer for Forward

July 1, 2018

Owen Maers

Liverpool have reportedly made their interest concrete in Nigerian winger Moses Simon with a formal offer sent to Belgian side Gent.

A bid was tabled to Gent recently, according to owngoalnigeria, the offer is €13m and also includes the loan of Liverpool youngster Taiwo Awoniyi. While the source is not very popular, this doesn’t mean it’s not credible as other publications have previously mentioned Simon’s name.

The 22-year-old caught the eye of Liverpool and other English clubs due to his performances for Gent last season – directly involved in nine goals across the 33 games he featured in. Simon caught the eye in the leadup to this year’s World Cup but unfortunately missed the tournament due to a back injury.

The contest for a place in the starting 11 was between him and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi – Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr praised Simon for his pace and defensive work-rate, two essential qualities that could have gave the Super Eagles the edge to get out of a tough group.

You’d be forgiven for not knowing much about Moses Simon – with no World Cup showcase and the fact he plays his football in Belgium. The only fact that you’ve picked up is that his middle name is Daddy. Yes, you read that right. However, I’m here to help, as I’ve previously mentioned his pace is impressive and this combined with his dribbling makes him the archetypal winger.

Solomon Fowowe, a football writer at The Guardian Nigeria, compared Simon to Liverpool’s own Sadio Mane: “(He reminds) a little bit of Sadio Mane, if you like because he’s direct when he embarks on the way to go and he knows when to go on those dribbles when he gets close to goal. He has a whole lot of speed about him and it really works well.”

Should this be true, it would be an excellent acquisition for Liverpool, the need for depth on the wings is obvious to all of us and Simon would fill that void. Klopp’s record with developing young players is well documented, so the addition of the Nigerian to the squad would be excellent, however, it may be at the detriment of a young English player like Ryan Kent.

With Moses Simon’s contract with Gent set to expire next June, Liverpool will likely start putting the pressure on in the coming weeks starting with the bid tabled. Gent will be well aware of the embarrassment of riches that the Premier League clubs have at their disposal and the attempts to drive the price up would have already begun. With player power more prevalent than ever and Simon likely keen to move to one of the leading leagues in Europe as soon as possible, should the rumours of a bid be true you’d imagine Liverpool could get this deal wrapped up should they desire to.

I'm a Nigerian and a Liverpool fan but to be honest, I'm skeptical about Simon Moses move.

Can he offer real value to Liverpool? Is he coming to play first team football or used in rotation?.if he's to be used in rotation, how many minutes will he clock?

And since Nigerian players are well known for inconsistency, is he going to offer Liverpool real value?

Is he going to be another KC, ighalo or Isaac success?

These and many more questions rest on my mind

Looking good as opposed to being good

Im looking at the remaining teams left and all their jerseys are straightforward...while play wise they all have a chance to win the cup.

My countryhuh Swag was high... Jersey was fire!!! Celebs were rocking it, foreigners dey rock em....then actual football was played....yuk..yuk yuk...

Cant dribble, cant shoot, cant defend for 10 minutes, cant run, cant adapt, cant take on players, no fire, no desire....flat flat f*cking flat!!!!

Oyingbo wall is soft as cotton candy

I like them, but like doesnt win you anything. If these two are your foundation, then new cement is needed...the wall let in 4 goals in 3 real games. For a team that has difficulty scoring, that aint gonna cut it.

We need to focus our resources on other sports. Football has gone beyond where Nigeria is.
Football is very scientific today filled with analytics to improve and help a team adapt, anticipate, act, react, etc...we are no where close. But it's ok, with 200 million ppl, there are other sports for us to try.

Looking at the teams left it is as clear as rain water the jibronis that represented us would have chopped at least 5 if not for Rojos and messi saving us from going forward.

We dont have players with the mental fortitude and discipline to take us higher, nor do they posses the work ethic, hunger and informed decision making to go further.

All our players care about is money up front, so they can take care of their entire village and show lifestyle, if not why for the love of God would Etebo leave la liga for epl div 2? Isnt that going backwards? And you are a starter for the national teamhuh??

As for one of our benchers... Ebuehi(still don

t know why is on the bench), .....goes from Dutch league to Portuguese giants, with a champions league ticket already booked. That's growth , a player who wants to improve. Unfortunately he is the exception not the norm.

I read somewhere that Rohr said he had a few players that will no longer be part of the eagles...few ke? Ogbeni.....let me help you..

List of players that should not report for duty again

Mikel - holding back Iwobi
Ighalo - CANNOT SCORE EVER AGAIN!!!
Onazi- It's time
Joel- no comment
Iheanacho ( yes even uncle) - annoyance
Shehu - quota
Idowu - coach's pet
Omerou - it's time
Echiedje - it's time

Snatch that 10 jersey from skippo and give it to Iwobi. Iwobi is not perfect, but he can be a very good 10.

But how are we supposed to know that when u are playing a career definsive midfielder as your play maker. The reason? Well he played it for us for 2 years and nobody complainedhuh? Whathuh?

So my coach is telling me that playing against mediocre African talent is the same as playing world class talenthuh? Adapt biko,....step it up...

Rohr should be fired, but he wont because he and pinnick are in bed together.

End rant
It's the African mentality my man. They only seek fleeting wealth and not the recognition, fame or achievement that comes with true dedication, commitment and passion. It is appalling really, tome especially.

Ebuehi would be different because he was raised in a different environment.

That's why they easily fade into obscurity and our football fotunes continue to dwindle.

No passion or commitment to their craft yet they'll always run to go and collect Jersey from Messi and Ronaldo.

Smh

Nigeria was never a dark horse in this world cup. The likes of Croatia, Colombia, Suisse and even England could pass as dark horses who can take advantage if France, Brazil, Spain, Germany slip up.
This false regret is not necessary.
