These Japanese are showing the kinda of fighting spirit expected of any team representing their nation at the World Cup. They have only been bested in their weak points which is their height!

Thank you!

Nigeria was never the dark horses in this world cup. The likes of Croatia, Colombia, Suisse and even England could pass as dark horses who can take advantage if France, Brazil, Spain, Germany slip up.
This false regret is not necessary.

In my opinion, I believe lack of athletism is the bane of Asian football. If Asians had the athletic genes of Africans, they would have won a few world cups.

I'm a Nigerian and a Liverpool fan but to be honest, I'm skeptical about Simon Moses move.

Can he offer real value to Liverpool? Is he coming to play first team football or used in rotation?.if he's to be used in rotation, how many minutes will he clock?

And since Nigerian players are well known for inconsistency, is he going to offer Liverpool real value?

Is he going to be another KC, ighalo or Isaac success?

These and many more questions rest on my mind
Let him go first then we will get answers afterwards.

Besides, ighalo didn’t flop in the EPL.

I have made this point over and over again. The club a player represents is a spec of nothing and should never be used to judge how good or talented a player is.
Japan doing the business.
How market? grin
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by AIG07: 9:05pm On Jul 02, 2018
Our coaches need to get rid of players loyalty syndrome. If a player is not meeting up to standard he should be dropped. Simple.

There should be some sort of player's attitude assessment on the field. Tired of all this I don't care attitude from our boys.

Hazard immediately realizes that all the dribble won't do them good and so reduced it. Lukaku sacrificed self glory for a player in a better position etc...

I'm still expecting the post world cup report from our technical committee. Oh... Sorry our house is in disorder once again. Hahaha.

Vision 2022 is slipping away gradually. May God deliver us.

Football is a team sport. Brilliant individual(s) counts but not always.
what worked for Belgium today is their individual brilliance , the Japanese team matched them strength to strength

Iceland is a bigger football country, much more than Japan indeed. I saw your weak attempt to list Icelandic greats and just shook my head.

I am ready to jump on the bandwagon that this is the best world cup I have ever witnessed. I sat down like 10 extra minutes in front of the set like "wat did I just see". I explain Japan by invoking a comment made lately by Prof Wenger "football is a romance story and they usually don't end well". What a match.

This too. Their physical specimen is just a disadvantage for them in football.

Chris Giwa is trying to put Nigeria into FIFA's trouble. The question I ask him is that; Is it by force? Since 2014 he has been fighting. Haba! I don tire for the man jare.

mr komekn grin and later you will accuse someone of displaying emotional bias. if K .nwakali does well at porto won't he ultimately benefit the national team? why must you always display catty and obnoxious opinions to players you don't like? first it was iheanacho then osimhen later balogun before your latest pet peeve k.nwakali. yours is a classic case of player hating at least wait to see whether he gets game time or not before sanctimoniously declaring where he will end up
I don't HATE first of all. I don't know Nwakali and probably never will, so what's thier to hate.

What I do HATE is double standard, favoritism and unfair practices.

I have one unit of uncompromising measurement for the SE selection. MERIT and that standard of merit should be not be up for debate.

The basis for selection should be consistent quality current performances in your club. If you are in a low level league then you should be outstanding in your club at least if not the entire league.

If you are in a top class team in top level league there may be exceptions. However, you must be playing to be considered. Youth football is not senior football.

So looking at Nwakali he played one season in the Eredivisie was not outstanding. If he was other teams would come in for him. He then goes to MVV Mastrich a demotion in reality to the 2nd tier of Dutch football. The Dutch Eredivisie league is ranked below the Turkish league it's number 14 in Europe.

In terms of level of football that level is probably on par with the English league 2 or national league.

Now considering all these variables is it wrong to say he at this stage does not merit a call up to the SE.

When a player who has been anonymous and done next nothing to prove his quality. Through the ingenuity of his agent goes to club well above his level. Is it therefore HATE to project to say he Nwakali looks unlikely to be starter in the Porto team. And may indeed end up in the Porto B team.

I am very familiar with Porto and the business model they adopt. As well as similar clubs in Portugal with the same business model.

I know too many African players who have had possible careers in football destroyed by Porto, Sporting and a few other Portuguese clubs.

So what is the HATE in my opinion which is based on experiential knowledge not hear say.

huh huh huh You tell me Mr considerate and level headed

Maaan this World cup is crazy crazeeee.

It's gone completely loco all the favorites have been eliminated in the first round. Consider it No Spain, Argentina, Germany, Portugal.

My expectations are for France to flog Uruguay and that obnoxious Suarez. I have not forgiven him for 2010 World cup in South Africa.

France are literally an African team.

But it looks like this could be Englands year, first time when Black players make up half the team. But really good quality players too not just the usual carpenters but real technically proficient players with skill and style.

So I am betting on England to win it, they have to be now one of the favourites.

I guess we can now see why Fellaini was picked over Nainggolan.
morale of the story, coaches have an idea of what they want and who they need. If it goes well fine, otherwise they get the stick.

If you want your son to play football, take him to Japan. Whatever those Academes are doing is superb. This Japan side is this most tactically gifted side I have seen so far in this WC.

As for their coach, we could as well sack Rohr now and hire him immediately. The team work is just textbook.
