Part of the cause of her bitterness is she spent 18 years of her life working her butt off while he tinkered away at his 'toy'. His experiments cost her lot and she spent her inheritance on him. What stopped him from getting at least a part time job during that time? His dependence on her increased her self of entitlement when finally hit it big

They got married remember? It's not like she was forced into it. Apparently he knew what he was doing, he also sacrificed his own life too. And he did got a job, he was working before the life changing call came in, not forgetting all the insults from the girl's sisters...all these he endured.

To me, the lesson learnt should be - total support, loyalty & commitment to your spouse regardless of what outsiders say, the moment she started listening to what people say, she lost it. By the way, the so called "toy" later became a goldmine.

I don't blame her for jumping ship. It's just too bad she did when she chose to. Do you know what it means slaving away, working two jobs, burning away your entire inheritance and even putting the family heirloom (her mother's house) up for mortgage just to support her husband's dream? 18 years is not 18 months. The man didn't even make attempt to get a job and support her but lived off her like a leach for that time period

The woman tried abeg. How many women can sacrifice that?? Circumstances worked against her, but she has anger and hidden mental issues and at the end that's what did her in.

The lady's narrative seems over the top.

But the guy is to be blamed too for not trying to get a good job.

I keep saying it, if Tyler Perry didn't give the movie a happy ending for the guy, the divorce would have paid off for the lady.

And if not that there were because of family interference, she would have stick with the guy.

Well said. The man's foolishness helped ruined her. If only he found a job while working on his project, Taraji wouldn't have lost her house or find an excuse to divorce her. He frustrated Taraji so much that she's quick to believe her sisters' story that her ex cheated on her again.

BTW, what do you call a man that came in the pretense of love, told a teenage Taraji all the lovely things to get her to fall for him, made her buy him a car only to lie shamelessly to her face and sleep with another girl? We're not talking about a toy car, we are talking of a real COSTLY car. How would you feel if a lady told you she loves you and made you buy her a car and then cheats on you, I swear you might lose it and do something drastic. Over the years I've read on the social media about men and women whining over little money they spent on an opposite gender and later felt cheated, talk more of a car.

Despite all these, Taraji forgave him, supported him against her siblings' wishes, trained him in school, watched as her money left by her mom went down the drain while the man was toiling and wasting valuable time on a project that has failed more times than the crooks we called leaders. The man failed to get a job, what he'd have done while waiting for his big break. Taraji lost her family home because of the man's stupidity of not getting a job to support her. How many humans would support a man/woman like Taraji did? I can't do half of the thing Taraji did for a GIRLFRIEND, only for a wife.

It's all these sacrifices and losses that the man considered when he got her back the house and settled her with a good amount of millions. He knew she lost a lot because of him. Taraji tried a lot and I don't blame her for leaving the man. Nobody knows tomorrow and I don't blame her for not knowing her ex-husband would hit it big shortly after the divorce. Every human has a limit. She's tried and seeing the purse of the lady he cheated on her with was the last straw that broke the camel's back. I feel for her, but she's wrong for her actions after the ex-husband settled her. She'd have moved on despite her hurt after realising the repercussions of her impatience and wrong judgement. What she'd have done was maybe ask for the ex to add more money for her citing her sacrifices, I'm sure her ex would've agreed to that because he's a good man. After that, she'd moved on and live with her regrets.

This is beautiful but let's not forget her mental issues. Her behavior at last was as a result of the workings of her mind. If she was 100% OK I bet she wld have behaved differently.

I have been keenly observing from the side on this, but reluctant to say something because I had similar arguments with different people online and offline.
Haven't said that, just want to remind you that the man couldn't even secure a regular job because he was a convicted felon (and he never cared to tell the wife who have always been the backbone of their family)...Also, let's not forget that he also didn't inform Taraji about running into the Ex, who happens to be the new Boss of the Coy. If Taraji knew about the meetings, lunch and dinner breaks with the Ex, don't think she would have reacted the way she did when the pulse matter came up.
As far as I'm concerned, effective communication is the key but he failed to understand it.

Movie was quite entraining. The action & choreography scenes were so on point, though, it has an overwhelming dull story. Jackie Chan's fans, this one is for you.

Loved the thought provoking concept, & the originality. I think it was from this movie LUCY got its concept from.

In the movie, 20% of his brain power & the dude literally knows it all, in real life am very confident that if one could make use of atleast 25% of their brain power, they would have achieved telekinesis & telepathic abilities, but unfortunately we weren't created/ designed to go beyond 10%.

Honestly, magic is one hell of a crafty act.

The pain and jealousy of watching another lady who cheated with her ex-husband in the past, reap all the efforts of her sacrifices and labour pushed her to that mental state. Thinking of how her ex will be making love to the new wife instead of her, watching her ex buy the yacht he promised her for his new ex drove her insane. Some pills are very bitter to swallow, especially when you're at the cusp of reaping massively only to realise you blew it at the last minute. It's painful.
