God help our Nigerian institutions
Lecturers wan fûck my classmates finish
questions that took us 3hrs to finish Algebra n trigonometry, 50queations to calculate
A girl finished it in 30mins
A lecturer swapped her questions paper n gave her solved ones

i didn't read the full story thou.. but my advice for you is this, education in Nigeria is a crap. people go to school here in Nigeria because they want to be rich. the bitter truth no one will tell you is this, going to school does not make you rich. just try what you can do to pass your exam
school is not met for everybody. there are so many rich men out there who didn't complete their school or didn't even go to school. my overall advice for you is this, do what you know you can to pass those CO.

Bros I will advice you to start again from 100level the reason is that your carry over u have before we continue riseing up till you reach 400level. And thaat will be. A big problem change your couse economics is a. Hard couse.. especially economentry.. hope you no dat.. if you like your self and you want to make Good grade.. because what am seing is 3rdclass or pass.. my best advice is to start form 100level again...

I gained admission around August / September 2016 but i couldn't resume same time with my mates because of some financial problems with was later sorted out and I had to resume half way of the semester with almost all quiz already done and just a week to exam. I did all i could do to make sure i avoid carry over but unfortunately for me I had 3 carryovers in my first semester year one and 4 carry overs in my year one second semester.
My 200 level exam came and i could only register one carryover out of the carry over i had in my year one first semester and I did (still hoping it comes out good).
Our 200 first semester results level results was released two days ago and i went to check mine today to my utmost surprise i had 4 carryovers out of 7 of our departmental courses which was released, i couldn't believe what i saw even though i did all i could do to make sure I don't miss quiz or assignments. I wasn't always in school to mark my attendance because of my financial situation to transport my self to school every day and i can't tell someone to mark my attendance for me cos the lecturers are fond of calling each and everyone names one after the other to make sure no one is trying to helping anybody.

I don't want to bore you guys with a long story, as I'm typing to you right now i got
1 outstanding carry over in my year one first semu
1 outstanding carry over in my year one second semester and
4 carry overs in my 200 level first semester

Our 2nd semester exam is starting on Monday and I'm doing everything within my power to make sure i don't disappoint my self one more time.
I can't just imagine the pain my parents are going to feel if they should know what I'm going through right now, I'm dying inside of me.

Please i need help with what i can do to graduate same time with my mates, i know it's impossible to make first class and almost impossible to make 2.1 all i need right now is to come out at the same time with my mates with a 2.2 degree.

Get a skill - photography, tailoring, graphics design etc

U can also explore agropreneurship, be an agent/middleman (sell real estate & vehicles) and get commission.

I studied econs too. Please u need to study harder to clear off the c.o if u re complaining bout the maths aspect, I bet you, u will do more in 300 lvl. Cos year 3 is d most difficult in econs dept. The question is, do u really like d course? If u feel d course is too hard, abeg change.

Settle down and read your books and avoid some friends that will distract you from reading.

First... You must make those that better than you in the class your friends, ur class rep.
Second... Try to get past questions from 300 levels students and study it before exam.

Well you had it all extra year isn't a bad thing don't register those course during the normal session wait till that extra year so you can have enuf time to read those course

Am even planning to leave the country just that I have not gotten the right connection to commot this naija

I'm studying economics i love the country even though I'm not that good with Mathematics.
I actually don't study that much cos i got no text books except for few handouts and I'm an introvert (very shy) i got just few friends that's what is making everything hell for me

Why don't you spend more time in your school library? or don't you have a decent library in your school?

You can also borrow text books from your friend and photocopy the areas you might require for a semester.


You also have to sum up the courage to interact with people. The University is best place to learn how to interact.

because if that's the case, then i can only tell you that YOUR CASE IS DIFFERENT...

I have a brother who preferred to carry courses over than have a c, d or e.
His goal was to have a first class, and he would ask his course rep to give him f when he didn't get his desired grade.
The good thing about carry over is that it gives you an opportunity to do better. Forget about having extra year. Just focus on having good grades, A, in your courses. Extra year (s) wouldn't matter if you can have a first class..

My guy, I am a 2:1 graduate of economics managing a 40k job. Just do your best and leave school and face life's challenges. Meanwhile, change that your monicker and try to relate with egg heads in ur dept. Even if it means bribing them.

Bro. I really understand how you feel cos, I have ones been in your shoe... GOD helping me I was able to graduate at the right time,with fairly good grade and got a lecturing job in one of the tertiary institutions.
challenges of life are bound to come, and must be over come. Don't let your challenges devour you, face it squarely and without fear.
Don't let it way you down.. Leave this introvert stuff, your problem is inferiority complex. So many good materials in your class are willing to be your friend irrespective of your grade..Move close to them, approach them,dont be scared, you have all it takes, get motivated within yourself, believe that you are the best at this point. Committing suicide shouldn't come into ur mind at all Cos, it is from the devil.
Prepare yourself for the worst scenario,having extra year may not be a good option but them what if it happens? All the best.

Lemme tell what I did during my time...yes, I hated mathematics and I had plenty carry overs in my year1 nd yr2 before we entered core departmental courses which were my strong points.

From year3, I started writing all my c/os....even though I didn't register the course, I sat for them all.
In final year, through the help of my course adviser, we sorted nd compiled all the c/os I've written and passed, did substitution method and voila!

Result came out...served with my mates.
2.2 though but now I'm gainfully employed in my field and I'm preparing for my chartered cert.

God over everything though.

I will like to tell you my own personal story. I attended ABU Zaria, if you've known anybody from that school you will know they are notorious for making students spill over. Anyways, I am not a bad student, I know that for sure, but I did not do well too in my first two years and the last year in the university, you know why? finance, I got maybe 4-6k every 1-2 months as pocket money and I had to depend a lot on my friends to survive. In those years that I was broke by GP was nothing to write home about, on my 3rd year and 4th year, I was top 5 in the department of over 160 people in same level, this happened because I had ripped my parents off a bit, I went to school that session with about 30k and it made a huge difference for me.

What I am trying to say is that it is very difficult for you to make any significant change in your grade if you always go hungry or cannot buy course materials when needed. I always slept in class because of hunger. If you are sure of yourself that your number one problem is finance, do not be shy to reach out to family members and plead with them. I know a lot of people will tell you that forget education do business, or do business by the side, all of these is easier said than done, and business will put further strain on your education.

Education is important, that certificate is really the most important thing, just having it alone gives you edge over many other people, no matter the grade you graduate with.

So again, reach out to family members promise them you will do better if you had a little more money, and hopefully you will find help.

School is not for everyone. Two years in school has validated that it's not for u. Stop struggling to do well academically and find out what u are good at. Entrepreneurs, and go getters will do exploits in the coming century.

Schooling is a liability to so many. Had I known this, I would have dropped out of school when challenges engulfed me and nearly had me for lunch.

Things may be going south today, but if u take a deep look inside, u can make surplus gains, and leap beyond the limitations that entrap u currently.
