I need more clarification about this Genotype "AC". I am in a relationship with this lady and found out she's the same Genotype as mine (AC). What sincere advice can the specialist here give me?. Though, I've read so many about it but somehow convinced and as well confused.

I'm AC and I'm Quite concerned about what will happen if I end up with an AS lady. This thing is not even funny.

I can only give you "special" advice

Don't marry

AC is like AS, the same way SS and SC are abnormal. AS is a carrier of sickle cell

AC is abnormal but has no symptoms. They leave a normal life just like normal AA. Even there is CC too, they tend to leave a normal life too but in females they tend to experience anaemia ( low blood level) while they are pregnant. Anaemia is a serious issue during pregnancy and this can be taking care of. Best is to marry AA when one is having abnormal Hb ( ie. S, C). Not advisable to marry when both partners have Hb S( AS, SS, SC).The problem is in that particular HbS .
