After independence, in order to build a great nation, each country went to work. But in Nigeria, after independence, our people went to pray and fast. So, while we were praying, Malaysia came here and took our palm seedlings and built a great factory of it. While we were praying, Singapore went into investment in technology. While we were praying, India went into ICT. While we were praying, China went to massive industrialization. While we were shouting Allah Alakuba! UAE went into massive infrastructural development. While we were binding and casting Lucifer, Japan went into technological development. While we were speaking in tongues, Denmark went into education of her citizens. While we were mounting big speakers in our places of worship, USA was mounting man on the moon.

After our prayers, God, being a wise God decided to reward us according to our labour. Since those that went into industrialization, technology, infrastructural development, ICT, education etc have been rewarded accordingly. It's only wise God rewards us with our efforts in prayers. That's why today, Nigerian pastors are competing in building the biggest churches.

That's why there are more prayer houses and worship places than hospitals and schools. That's why people rush to prayer houses for medical and business solutions instead of hospitals. That's why we don't do business proposals before jumping into business since we are going to back it up with prayers. And when it collapse, we blame devil. That's why it's a sin to say anything negative about pastors and imams. That's why our pastors don't consider the opinion of engineers while building and blame devil when building collapse. That's why faith in God replaces building pillars and when it collapse we blame it on Lucifer. That's why our pastors are making sure they plant church branches instead of schools in every streets in Nigeria. That's why we always wait for gods to do that which ability to accomplish we already have in us. That's why we want our teachers to labour on earth and go to heaven for their rewards. Nigeria is a prayer loving, god fearing nation. Religion has taken the place of technology, infrastructure, education and all. When we are traveling, we ignore all the necessary road requirements, servicing of our vehicles and pray. And, once we pray, we can put a half fit vehicle on the road and blame our step mother or mother in law if anything goes wrong. That's why there are more people dying on our roads. Because, we pray and fast and leave everything to God when we have all we need to survive and build a nation....... I hope it made sense to you

The problem from independence has been welfarisim....which in practice means economies based on sharing the goodies...which means you end up with overimportation, and little need for industries and innovation.

Japan and China don't have much resources to export (Japan is just a rock filled group of islands)...so they innovate. Nigeria just jumps from one resource to the next.

That's what I tell people...but they will accuse you of being anti-progress...

Problem is, the resources we are exporting won't provide us with enough revenue forever...so maybe we might go industrial.

And it is the duty of the church to provide good schools and hospitals, where did the government go to?

It's sad we have this mindset , if the government's efforts aren't enough it's not bad if private institutions or individuals provide these needs at a cost , the point to bring out of this is that we need better health care or schools than places of worship. Are Americans not rich as well , do they build churches like we do I blame the government as much as I blame our religious leaders

Who are all these noisemakers and frustrated people complaining about the church, instead of facing your business and channelling your complaining energy into bettering your life situation, im sure some of you can never do wat these pastors and churches have done in relation to charity and helping the poor and youre here complaining about church moving forward infrastructurally, all these members of the complainers and wailers association should leave pastors and churches to do what GOD would have them do.....it is not fit to leave the main purpose and attend to the lesser purpose....
Churches are exploiting the poor, they are helping to increase the number of the extreme poor by taking the little they have to chase building projects, private jets, private universities and flamboyant lifestyles of the promoters of the churches and their immediate family members, I pray you are able to comprehend because you are all gullible

you

Wake up in the morning without eating

You trek to church

You sing and shout at the top of your voice

The pastor tells you, "you will never succeed if you don't pay tithe

You use the small change in your pocket to pay tithe

Pastor tells you to expect spiritual blessings and heaven

You trek back home then soak garri or whatever unbalanced diet you have.

And keep waiting for God's blessing

YOUR PASTOR

Wakes up, eats whatever he wants

Heads to church in a Benz, Lexus, land cruiser etc.

Misquotes the Bible, shares fake stories, fake miracles/healing

stipulates the amount of tithe you must pay to access God's blessings, even threatens you with what will happen if you don't pay tithe.

Sells anointed "this" and "that" to you for protection but can't protect himself

Tells you your blessing is on it's way and reward in heaven

Then the next morning he jets out in one of his many jets to make plans for his new business venture

Is this how you actually live? Wow!
PMB was not wrong after all. undecided

*singing* THE CHURCH IS MARCHING ON.......

This is bigger than the BIGGEST stadium in the country..

Jesus is Lord....... FOREVER and EVER!

Children of hate are allow to wail and gnash their teeth cos of this news, it is allowed!

JESUS ROCKS

To that poster above talking about money that they could have channel into people's life......

Yes o, just like the money you used to buy your phone and the money you use to buy data can be channeled into people's lives too , hypocritecheesy ......worlexy

I don't think God is interested in the size of the church as much as lives of men. Souls are perishing, and if this celebrated feat does not translate to souls for christ, then its meaningless. Perhaps if we commit more resources to evangelizing and reaching the unsaved, corruption and decay in our society would reduce. Maybe fulani herdsmanism wouldn't be a threat.

The annoying part of this is that banks are financing them, they crowd out the loanable funds as the banks prefer to loan to a church than to a manufacturing company. Pay back never a problem since funds from donations from looters, ritualists and kidnappers are readily pushed to churches

What is the motive of this biggest church?

Why is the church not sited in the rural area, where we have more poor people?

I counted 33 churches in my street alone (in P/Harcourt). I think, it is High time government regulate religious activities & administration in Nigeria.

On the contrary, pls. I want to put it to u, ARGUABLY, that Nigerian churches are among the most employers of labour today. Have u sat down to think of d numbers of higher institutions, secondary, primary and Pre primary schools owned by these churches, not to talk of media outfits, construction firms, book publishing houses and bookshops, cafeteria, pure water factories, winners Chapel alone has 2 standard universities in Nigeria. think of the thousands of people working in these industries. they don't work for free. they are paid good salaries. Hundreds of staff followed Redeemer's University from Mowe to Ede, it's becos d salary is good. They paid tax to government also. I know people around that are employees of church "industries".

Adeboye had planned to construct a flyover at Mowe to reduce traffic on d expressway during their programmes, but FG didn't give approval.

i am in support of all these and i'd rather the churches continue with such and even make profit, than them building large auditoriums. tomorrow, another person will wake up and say God gave him vision to build 150,000 capacity auditorium and the circle continues like that.

Mindset? You have forgotten we are Africans and do not expect us to have the same mindset as Americans, we are different and so is our way of life. BTW when has it become the duty of the church to provide all these things you are talking of? Someone was even asking why the church is not creating jobs, funny. The church's role in the society is mostly spiritual and where they can, assist their communities physically and the church is trying in that area.

Precisely the problem with this country. People are committing suicide out of lack and zero choices yet some 'pastors' are busy scamming their congregation so that they can buy private jet and build the biggest church auditorium in the world.

It is well.

Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” Matt. 24:1, 2.
Biggest church and churches in the world and the country is one of the most corrupt in the world, one of the country in the world with most looting, one of the countries in the world with most great false prophets, pastors, GOs, etc, who collected the monies of their followers and people, even stolen money, by preaching false and corrupt messages and lies and speaking by demons, and become very rich and sit on... It is truly the biggest house of buying and selling and merchandising in the world.

So it's not the church duty to provide these things but the church collects from the society in the form of offering and tithes abi , the worst thing is churches and religious institutions are not taxed yet they collect hugely from the society with no apparent service they provide. If you care about the advancement of this country you won't be talking like this.
