I think you should be able to defer, plus is it not a policy in most schools to refund you if your visa is denied? I think they would only deduct their administrative fee, which is fair enough. But please confirm what works for the school. But deferring the admission might be your best option if there's a chance of losing money.

All the best.

Good evening all....
I got my gcm's note, been able to put my doc together but then, I haven't paid my fees, and payment is due August...... Considering the processing time, is it advisable to go ahead and pay the fees before putting up the application?

Note: if I don't pay by 1st week of August, I ll loose the admission. If I pay and don't get approved I'll loose my money.

For my chosen course, there's no January session till fall session next year.

Pretty confused

Good morning bosses, please I need your advice. I was able to secure a supervisor at Simon Fraser university. But he can't fund me and I intend funding myself but the school requires that students not funded by Professors should secure a scholarship in their home country as they (sfu) don't accept self funding. What can I do as I really want to work with man and the tuition of the school is very cheap. The Professor has already asked me to ask the Dean of Grad studies for a way around it but I also want to know your opinions please. Thanks

Please can anyone advice me on what to do regarding my nysc certificate. I finished serving in 2015 but had issues regarding my certificate and it was transferred to abuja. when I got there mid last year I was asked to come back because the person discharging certificates wasn't on sit. This was very frustrating because I had to travel all the way from lagos. but I need to submit my visa application and I don't know if it's compulsory to add a discharge certificate. p.s I have my certificate number and all other relevant document but just not the discharge certificate. KINDLY ADVICE
NYSC cert is just to explain that 1 year gap, if you can explain something else in place of NYSC(like working or doing any training) you will be good to go. The vo expects you to explain every gap from your years in school till date(from primary school-date)

Attach your GCMS Note first then we can tell you what went wrong on your application.
Good day, please I applied for Student permit on the 17th of May 2018 and I got a refusal on the 4th of July stating that I don't have evidence to prove that I will return to home country after studies because of lack of personal assets and funds. My application was funded by a company that paid all my tuition fee and living expenses for one year. Anyway I want to reapply again because I am supposed to resume by September 2018. Please what can I do, I don't want to lose this admission and I am afraid of how long it will take them to process my application again and do I have to go for biometrics again? How can I fast track this second application. Attached below is the letter from cic

Please note that I have already defered my admission before. I don't think the school may defer again for the second time, or is it possible
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by dubaiboy1: 11:41am On Jul 09, 2018
I don't know about your school but Dalhousie has did it twice for me before. You can send them a message and ask , it won't hurt.

it took me just a week to get a response from them. They will send you a conditional acceptance letter which requires full tuition payment after which they will send you a final acceptance letter for study permit application. send me a message for more information.
Can you apply for student permit with the conditional acceptance letter?

I think you should use lagos. when i did mine, i used nairobi, but i didn't get anything, and then i sent mails to all of them.lol.

But the night before i got an update from them, i directed my webform enquiry to lagos. So i think you should do lagos and then send an email to them to. You can send to accra and nairobi. I sent to those two and lagos. Send separate mails, not copy o.

Be sure the processing time kini has passed though.

All the best.

Sorry, when you speak of sending emails to Accra and Nairobi, are you referring to traditional email or Webform too? Meanwhile, I did my biometrics in Abuja .

@Josh1996, do you have the funds to pay for your entire tuition fee? If yes, inform the school that your family has decided to pay all your fees before resumption. I think the school is finding it hard to believe that you have enough funds to pay your fees. If you are sure you have the funds, pay you entire tuition and they will accept it. That’s the only way to show that the funds are readily available.

I have but was informed that it's a strict policy of the school that students for their thesis program must either have a funding from their prospective professor or scholarship from their home country

Yes. email.

I'm forced to think it was the email i sent they attended to, not to web enquiry. Meanwhile, i sent to london immigration too, cos they actually processed my visiting visa, and we have noticed they processed some student visa too.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by harde116: 1:41pm On Jul 09, 2018
I'm still a bit confused about this whole professor sponsoring your program. Usually, for research based programs, if you get a scholarship, and you find a supervisor, the school funds it, or they waive your tuition which is in the form the scholarship takes. I'm a little confused about your supervisor trying to pay for your program, when you no be him pikin.

However, tell them the funding is available since you already have your money with you, and ask if you can go ahead to pay since you can afford it. I want to believe they won't say no.

All the best mate.
