yes she finished at 22 in the uk worked in the uk till she was way above the age to serve ,then got an appointment in naija and had to apply for exemption. i am sure u didnt serve cos if you did u would av understood what happened
Can we just stop defending wrongs? What is a graduate supposed to do after graduation according to the laws of Nigeria? Is it not to serve the nation through NYSC? Why didn't she return to Nigeria to do her NYSC? The simple answer is that she didn't find it important. So what are you saying? Was she supposed to start working immediately after graduation? No! Why defending wrongs? Is it because it's a minister that is involve?

Stupid man, tagging Igbos in your fake defense. Keyboard Justice Okoro.....Justice without court or chamber. Let me refresh your skull for typing this balderdash.

She graduated at 22,does that sound well in ur ears. The law says by the time you graduated not the time you chose to come back to Naija at ur own will. If she stayed at England fine cos they don't have nysc but if she has intention of working for Naija,my dear the law says same way u carry urself go abroad, carry urself come back too so far as you graduated before 30 to serve the fatherland and thereafter return to ur abroad. Now she quickly saw she was to be appointed in a govt parastatal went to obtain Oluwole certificate at a cost of 10k as at then
Provide the law that compels graduates abroad to come back n perform their one year service

Her record shown that she graduate at age of 22 and become member of ICAEW at age of 24, why exemption certificate that's meant for people of above 30years
If she contravened our extant employment laws, I expect her to be fired and prosecuted.
However, as someone who has a knack for reading the tea leaves well, I suspect there is more to this case than meets the eye. grin

Question for all; at what age did she obtain her first Nigerian passport?
Could it have been just before she turned 36, when she moved to Nigeria for the first time?

Where did u keep ur sense, inside fowl nyash abi....even if she graduated at 22, have u asked urself where she graduated from??....was she in Nigeria bw 22-30. If she was not in Nigeria within this nysc eligible age range, how will she serve.....Olodo
You are the Olodo.
Let me school you. She graduated at 22. She had between 22 to 30 (8 years) to have come back and participated in the MANDATORY NYSC scheme if she wanted to EVER work in the public/civil service.
But she did no such thing, because she was earning a good pay in the UK. All fine and good. But immediately an opportunity presented itself to follow chop the national moi-moi, she remembered NYSC.
"Sorry, you are not qualified for an exemption", somebody must have told her. But because she was now desperate, she forged an exemption letter. After all this is Nigeria (apologies Falz).
Now is the time of reckoning and her yansh has been opened to public scrutiny.

Son, you are the one that needs to use your brain. Apparently, you have no idea of the NYSC act or how the scheme works.
As long as you graduate before you are 30 you are eligible for youth service even if you deflect it for 20 years. This applies to everyone including those that graduated abroad.

You are ridiculous. Your searchlight should be on the validity of the certificate, not about a graduate abroad ignoring a good job after graduation.

If it were not an Olodo Rabata, you would have asked yourself why Brigadier Bomoi who retired 9 months before the signing of the purported Exemption letter could have achieved that feat.
Desperation can make even otherwise intelligent people like Madam Kemi, do stupid things.

lol @ hypocritical ipobs and their crocodile tears and fake love for Nigeria and rule of law.

Stella Oduah presented fake degree to the Senate and till today, she's still a federal minister while you people looked the other way.

Dino Melaye presented a fake Harvard University and the London School of Economics and Political Science degree, but both institutions denied that claim. Melaye did not study degree courses with them, and hence, couldn’t have graduated, but guess what? Melaye your hero is still a federal senator in Nigeria.

You ipobs care less about Nigeria so you people really need to keep quiet and stop boring us with your crocodile concerns and hypocrisy.
The same tired narrative as always. Ipobs ipobs that even a die hard Buhari supporter like Ngenekwenu could actually come out to support the truth yet here you as usual pushing your meaningless tribalistic agenda conveniently forgetting that this bombshell was released by a paper owned by a fellow Yoruba person!

No normal person would sit by and watch their name and hard earned reputation being dragged through the mud without coming out to defend himself.

After 3 days of this scandal breaking, we are yet to see Adeosun come out to clearly address these accusations with irrefutable evidence, demand a public apology and then proceed to sue Premium Times for every single dime for defamation of character and irresponsible reportage.

The question then is why has she not done any of this if her hands are clean?

Please let's try to be objective and stop putting rubbish ethnic colouration into burning national issues like Forgery and the Integrity of our Public officials!

Stop disgracing yourself in a public forum. Exception is for people who graduated while above 30yrs. So even if you are 70 when you returned to the country, you still have to serve as long as you graduated before 30yrs. I had a physics teacher at school who schooled abroad and was above 40 but was serving.

To start with, she wasn't qualified for an exemption.
She graduated at 22, she could have used any of the 8 years before her 30th birthday to come home and serve her fatherland. But she preferred to work in the UK. But when the opportunity presented itself to come partake in getting a cut from the Nigerian Treasury she jumped at it.
So, the only way to work in the public or civil is either NYSC certificate or exemption letter from NYSC. So she forged.
...but she could have still gotten exemption letter on her return to Nigeria, citing age...its very possible

Mr Olodo Rabata, Madam Kemi is not the only person who schooled abroad. she had 8 good years if she had intended to serve her fatherland. She must have thought then that NYSC was for the commoners and not an elite like herself. But when she was invited to partake in the national moi-moi she remembered NYSC.
Get that in your thick skull

Please lets stop arguing blindly based on sentiments. I know we all love kemi adeosun. However PT has raised very pertinent questions.

1. Kemi graduated at 22; even if she returned to Nigeria at 99, she must do nysc for 1 year.

2. Regarding exemptions, age is not the only grounds. There are four grounds of exemptions: if you GRADUATE after turning 30; if you hold a national honour; if you served in police or army for 9month or if u are a staff of army or intelligent agencies.

3. However, all the grounds of exemptions are irrelevant for Kemi because d nysc exemption certificate she presented states clearly dat she was exempted on the ground of AGE. The problem is she is not QUALIFIED for age exemption even if nysc accepts dey issued the certificate.

4. Finally the certificate was purportedly signed in september 2009 by nysc director general dat retired in January 2009. How is dat possible? This is also a question to be answered.

So no matter how you twist it KEMI has a case to answer her. The argument that she is overqualified for nysc is false. Even at 50 you can still do nysc if you graduate before 30. NOW she cannot even hide under any other grounds of exemptions because the certificate she submitted clearly says it was age exemption she used. Interesting stories anyways...

NO. if that were the case, all others who studied abroad and graduated before 30years would have comfortably stayed back and do their things. Whenever they were ready for Nigeria they will simply apply for exemption. But those who know that tomorrow is pregnant always come back do their mandatory one year service and go back if they wish.
Kemi was desperate and this is the result. Let's see how FG spin this one.
