The trend is similar, GEJ won Ekiti (by similar militarization & Vote buying), won convention, won party ticket but lost the NASS, lost the governors support, lost nPDP, lost OBJ, lost Saraki, lost Tambuwal, lost Benue before loosing election.

People started 'standing with GEJ, TAN', now they are standing with PMB.

Hope the trend isn't repeating

i am from Benue and No body likes Ortom here. It is a fact. Aside the anti grazing law, what else has he to offer? Benue people commend him for that but he is not loved by anybody hereand no body is ready to vote him to powet again. NEVER!!

No body in Benue loves him wnd No one is ready yo vote him back. I think that's the reason why they are pushing for his replacement. If Ortom recontest, expect the votes are tempered with, i m not sure he will win even his local government. People from his local government hate him the most. They never voted for him sef. And now the whole of Benue doesn't like him a bit.

say what you know. Nobody in Benue like him. Non payment of salary and using the killings as an ATM to make money while people are hungry. We Benue people hate him in totality. The earlier APC refuse his automatic return ticket, the better for him. Except Elections are rigged, he has no vote. They told him, if you want a return ticket, pay salaries upto date, that is where the problem is coming from simply because he can't pay. He should park well please.

But if Akume and not the Benue people 'selected' him as governor, what is the guarantee that Akume will not make the same selection mistake again. We have seen the military make a selection mistake in Obasanjo and Obasanjo making serial selection mistakes in Yaradua/Jonathan and then Buhari.

Are the people of Benue actually this dull and ignorant.

It's funny how the majority of Nigerians think. I don't know if its because I have little interest in politics or care less about religious/ tribal sentiments that's why I see the picture clearer. I wonder when it will dawn on you guys that these politicians are only using this 'party thing' to use your heads. Are they not the same crop of people you've known before? Someone that is COMPLETELY incompetent is now seen as 'standing by his people' because of the anti open grazing law, its ok. Yea, I wish we could love him for that and that alone.....but its rather pathetic that the law is now being used as a campaign to reinstall him to that seat. Sadly, the gullible will fall for this just for sentiments sake. I predicted what's happening in Benue( my state) here on nairaland several months ago. Ortom is not who you guys think he is, we have always known him but sadly sentiments have started taking over....so pathetic.

Don't mind the ignoramuses, many of them don't bother with facts they rely on fake news channels instead.

You were quite right; apparently Ortom has fallen out with his godfather Akume, who controls the Benue State APC party structure and in consequence is no longer guaranteeing him the governorship party ticket.

Ortom can therefore not claim that the party is the one pushing him out (e.g. by expulsion) simply because he lost out in his local constituency (in-house) power play.
