Hello, Sir/Ma. Congrats and best of luck towards your stay in Dubai. I do like to ask what were the questions you where ask at the embassy in Abuja before getting the visa stamped on your passport. Cause i heard there's an interview before the visa would be stamped on the passport.

I have finally travelled down to Dubai. Have been working for about a week now.

This post is directed to the people who were questioning the legitemacy of the 23,000 AED job I talked about while asking a question a while ago. Actually, I even got my company to increase my relocation allowance. Again, I didn't use any agents.

I deleted my other account with the username giftdavid112.

You can ask your questions.

A friend just got a tourist visa and he's appointment is on the 2nd. So he heard there's an interview and scared maybe he might not be granted after all. Please help sir wit the process of what he might encounter before getting the visa stamped

They didn't ask any serious question at the embassy. The guys only asked about my reasons for traveling, occupation, where I would be working and other basic questions like that.

Just thought to give heads-up for people that want to come to UAE embassy in Abuja for biometric.. book through whatsapp only. They will eventually respond with date and ID numbe. The securities at the gate have a list of people scheduled to do biometric that day and if your name is not on the list you’ll be sent back. Don’t waste money coming to Abuja if you don’t have appointment date and ID number that they will send through WhatsApp. I hope this will help someone out there. I got here and learned the hard way

Maybe my case was different because I did my visa stuff last month and never booked an appointment on WhatsApp.

Question is strange, but did you drive to the embassy? I was at the embassy for about 5 different days and something I noticed is that they only stop you at the gate when you are walking in or driving a less flashy car. I was only stopped at the gate the only day I decided to walk into the embassy.

I think the security upstairs were easier to deal with once you are in. Just spoke in the language they understood.

Sorry about this bro, the embassy is really useless.

Quick tips for people traveling to Dubai/other locations so you don't have to pay money to those corrupt Nigeria immigration officers.

1. Print out your hotel reservation or the invitation letter from the person you will be staying with.

If you don't have a hotel reservation and can't get an invitation letter, you can easily make a booking for a hotel on bookings.com or similar sites without paying. You can then print that out.

2. They ask how much you are traveling with and if you say any amount less than $1000, they will come up with a bogus law that the minimum to travel with is $1000. If you can't question them properly, you might end up paying ~N4,000.

Just wanted to share this as it might help you save a few thousand nairas.

For the price, its ok. those guys have no issue, its just business as they just want to make extra bucks on their paid rent.
find out also if you have to pay extra on utilities.

Okay. Thanks, man.

go for it.
call for inspection and when at the building ask to see the building "caretaker or security" just to confirm.
be sure what your rent entails, light, water, internet ?

Thanks for the tips. I appreciate

You can’t be so sure he’s been duped, maybe the company just needed some quick general helpers or any menial Job is available and sometimes they don’t require the applicant to pay anything just the agent (his friend) involved might decide to take a token. So maybe he’s not duped and equally he might be duped, either of the two might happen.

Yes! as per the memo posted, Abuja Biometrics is on hold until further notice (what an impromptu notice), really a memo should have been cascaded earlier, prior to this time... well, let’s await their final resolution. We hope they stop this stressful process really. There are different UAE laws to be implemented in the 4th quarter of the year.

Dear nairalands, pls I need suggestions as regards working in UAE . I started with the processing of 3 months visa to uea last year March, but I was duped by my contact in Dubai with the tune of #400k, knowning fully well that I had no jobs at hand his actions den couraged me from pursuing my traveling plan.
But presently, I am trying to give it another shot.
Now my questions is what are the chances of getting a decent or an average job?
How can I go about getting the 3 months visa or working Visa from Nigeria?
All sincere suggestions is welcome.

How I wish this is to put a stop to the Abuja wahala and revert to status quo. Very unorganized arrangement. Even Nigeria missions abroad can do way better than these people are doing in that Tsukunda House ni cheesy.... For me, they are actually only biting more than they can chew, they weren't and are still not prepared, and this their approach like a pack of card can come crumbling on them, unless they up their game!
