That logo really makes sense. I like!
And 5% stake owned by the public sector is quite commendable.
Clearly we have learnt our lessons from the collapse of Nigeria Airways and all the many other public sector operated businesses of the past that went down the drain.

PS: whatever was the real reason Virgin left Nigeria anyway?

This Govt has done so so much. It is the hateful witches association of wailers that keep spewing trash on social media. Morons!

You spoke my mind. But one thing I know is, lies can never overshadow the truth no matter how good it is painted. We the educated ones(not necessarily school education), know what this govt has done. We also know those frustrating this govt.

Where is the report on Nigeria Airways?
Re: Nigeria Air… FG Unveils New National Carrier by wink2015(m): 2:36pm On Jul 18, 2018
Rich states like Delta state, Rivers states, Bayelsa state, Akwa Ibom state, Lagos state etc should be able to float their own Airline instead of waiting for the federal government 's Nigeria Air.

The resources these states receive from the federal government is far big enough to maintain airline, pay salaries of workforce, tar road etc.

Corruption has always been our problem in Nigeria.

Do you fly at all, talk true make devil shame?

Nigeria Air is the worst of all the names that have been given our national carrier.

Richard Branson was the one who would have made our national carrier the best in Africa but greedy politicians destroyed it.

I can bet that this airline will not survive the next 5 years. This country is faulty from its core. Anything that has government involvement is bound to fail.

The reason we can never have a successful national carrier is because airline is a business with vast gross revenue but thin net income. The moment politicians and everyone who thinks they own Nigeria start seeing daily flights to London and New York, they believe they ought to get a part of the cake that does not exist and that will be the end.

This sounds very good BUT

Why in Heaven did they have to go to London to unveil it ?

Will British Airways come and unveil their brand in Lagos ?

Hmmmm so govt will purchase the planes for private individuals to enjoy profit all in the name of ppp. Too many fake PPP out there already.

Well said bro, this is exactly what happened. I just don't see why people should congratulate the government officials and their likes for siphoning things meant for the masses and then privately privatize it just to seem like its being managed by foreigners. SMH! If you know ,you know.

Nigeria Air that rikes of corruption grin grin

banntin:
Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika on Wednesday unveiled the name of Nigeria’s national carrier, as well as the logo at the Farnborough International Airshow in London.

Sirika said the national carrier is Nigeria Air.

During the unveiling, the minister said, “this will be a National Carrier that is Private sector-led and driven. It is a business, not a social service. Government will not be involved in running it or deciding who runs it. The investors will have full responsibility for this.”

“The Nigerian Government will not own more than 5% (maximum) of the new National Carrier. Government will not be involved in running it or deciding who runs it,” he said

He added that government is in talks with aircraft providers, “We’ve been talking to Airbus and Boeing (and they’re present at this event) regarding the aircraft for and we will be making announcements very soon. We are currently negotiating.”

If nothing ever works in this country, you won't have a platform like Nairaland to air you views. Fine things might not be as we want yet, but boy listen to me, things are working in this country. Laziness is a disease get to work boy. I just rode the train from central area here to the airport. Gradually we will get to the promise land. IF you don't believe in this country, relocate to Congo boy.

This is another waste of government resources

Mtsheeew, the name isn't smooth on the tongue at all. Please try pronouncing nigeria air out loud and hear how rediculous it sounds. Air nigeria, sounds more better. Or better yet, why not refer it to its original name before which is nigerian airways. Sounds more smooth and classic
