If Nigerians like they should vote with their DNA samples it would not work

Every single election since independence say has been heavily rigged and will continue to be so.

It only takes a few top shots to decide who they want to win an election

To me, if banks can do ATM where you can withdraw money anyway and it will show in their system. If you exceeds the amount allowed by ATM you cannot withdraw again then we can as well make all our polling units have something like ATM.Slot in your voters card put your pin, vote the party you want and remove your card. Any attempt to vote twice will be rejected. Like Stock exchange house where trade of all companies listed in stock exchange in Nigeria and all over the world can be monitored by simply looking at the screen, same will be position in inec offices in all states and party agents will be there monitoring their score as voting is going on. A central monitor where television stations will be transmitting the results live on the screen.

It's a Good idea.

The phone number u use in the registration is the phone number u will use in voting.
And once you send ur vote ur sim card will be deactivated from sending another message to INEC.

This option will work if they put mind to it.
PDP sms will fail to deliver until after announcement of result..... lol

The same federal Govt who fined MTN a hefty sum will grant them FREE FINE. if only they can falsify voting figures to the GOVTs advantage.

The guy who registered sim card on the street, can register hundreds of sim card using fake details in anticipation of the election.

This idea no fit work.

Criticize the idea and stop the insults.

I'm a lawyer and this is how we vote for our Nigerian bar Association chairman.

It works elections are free and fair.

Deji
you’re against the idea too?

To be honest, I think it would be disastrous going by this.

First, we have people with more than 1 sim card.

Second, we have people who're yet 18 but with registered sims of which most registration outlets ignore the age sections.

Third, our system is so corrupt that the politicians would contaminate the process.

Fourth, some people while doing the biometrics would use their forefinger instead of the thumb.

Had it been we had a centralize database, the idea would have been fantastic. But then, most people would still be compelled to submit their sims trade for some cash.

We definitely still have long way to go.

OMG!! Nigerians are really technophobic and Luddites with all these comments about having multi sims or lines, Jesus!! Really!!! I don't even know how many people to quote or start correcting.

The BVN was a pretty revolutionary technology to the banking sector in ensuring a single person account can be tracked and traced across multiple bank accounts, someone evn mentioned having 10 fingers and 10 different fingerprints, Are u for real!? although this is EXTREMELY VERY RARE, but still precautions are taken, that's why when someone fingerprints are captured for data entry, they capture multiple fingers not just one.

Though I embrace the idea of integrating technology in the election process to eliminate electoral malpractices and drastically reduce running cost of elections, but any computer system is prone to hacking and can be compromised if the stakes are high enough, but there are very still advanced innovative anti hacking systems been developed by Oracle and silicon valley companies, but Nigeria is still very far away from conceptualizing this idea, we're so very far off, even technological advanced nations haven't tried it yet talk less of us. Abi Naija wan turn wakanda over night!

Exactly!!!! "IF"being the operative word. Lets not forget that all innovations for election in Nigeria is overseen by humans, Nigerians most likely. Nothing cant be compromised when it comes to elections. I feel, scratch that, I know it will not work. We would not give it a chance. very sad

Or how about sending like a text of your name, state, candidate name and party and PVC's CARD S/N. Once THAT PVC card S/N number has been sent, you can't send again and that card is already used and discarded till next election. That way the PVC will still be useful and effective. It. Only means you won't have to come out to vote and your phone number even if you have 100sims will not be important unless you have 100pvc

According to Sen. Ben Bruce,

There are 100 million phone lines in Nigeria. Almost every Nigerian adult has a phone. All mobile lines are registered by the NCC, which captures names personal details, photos and finger prints of registered owners. Why can’t we vote by text? It will end Ekiti style vote buying.

How well would this affectsthe credibility of elections?

its a bad idea. but if anything patterning to this must happen....

it must be BVN related as I perceive BVN to be the only true means of identification in this country.

may be ATM can be used for it as some ATM have finger print biometric verification attached to it. trust me I believe this means will work.

my name is Godwin Edet I just want to make a common sense.

most of the times it is reverse common sense..... SMH. Naija with high illiteracy rate. Even some old literate cant even send sms. It is so remote that all Naija politicians need to do is to gather hungry Nigerians to queque and use their sim cards to vote and the voters collect feeding allowance afterwards

The reason why Sen Ben Bruse failed as NTA DG and in Business is because of crazy ideas.
Old people cant send sms by themselves, and can be cheated if they ask they someone else
Bank alert that is important sometimes fail to deliver for 24hrs or never
Votes can be manipulated by the Telecom Coy

This is the worse idea of 2018, even worst than grazing bill

THE BEST WAY TO CHECKMATE RIGGING IN NIGERIA.

Students use special Pin Number to check their WAEC, NECO & JAMB Results

The Government fashion out a way where Pins can be allocated to eligible Nigerians, who will register with their National ID Number or Passport Number or PVC Number.

You can only use this Pin Number once during an election to vote.

After that, you cannot sign in again or you can sign in only to check your vote, which you cannot change.

You are the one who doesn't have brain. Most of you don't think outside the box. You are not technologically inclined. Most people don't even know what is blockchain. Let's learn to think outside the box. It is not until European countries does it before we can do ours. We are not dogs waiting for crumbs from European invention/accomplishments.

Such system requires a very strong firewall against hackers. Its been touted that even our banks don't have the requisite firewall and prefer to go with substandard ones. I doubt if INEC can see this through. Let it not become an avenue for professional hackers to have a field day.
