Former interior minister Abba Moro has announced he will stand next year for the Benue South senatorial seat, currently occupied by Senator David Mark.

He told a news conference in Otukpo that after touring the nine council areas that comprise the Idoma-speaking Benue south senatorial district, known as Zone C, he felt standing for elections was the right thing to do.

SMH. This guys are never tired of money.

Even though many people are stil pained about the needless loss of lives during his shambolic recruitment exercise, the reality however is that he only needs the vote from just nine LGs from his state to become a Senator.

If he is popular and well supported by his god father, Abba might be a senator in 2019 regardless of how anyone outside the nine LGs feels

Shouldn't he be made to answer for the sham recruitment exercise under his supervision?

This guy was David Mark's boy, David Mark made him a minister. He organized the immigration scam job which claimed the lives of many. And because he was David Mark's boy GEJ failed to fire him which contributed to his undoing. Now he wants to contest against his benefactor and master. Politics and zero loyalty.

With his grass root network it might just be possible

That is good as approved by D Mark himself.

Just look at the bloody ingrate. Someone that has been David Mark's boy all along and rode on his back for ages - David Mark even made him a minister under GEJ.

Unless this means David Mark is voluntarily stepping down and is no longer interested in the Senate.

That senatorial district is just always competitive. I know another formidable candidate will soon come out as well.
