Hmmm baba Finito...worlds best 7 and crosser of the ball. I still remember his late younger brother Igenewari George of Sharks or some other club, who died from a bullet in their club bus in the Abacha days.

And average Cambodian, Vietnamese, Moroccan, Tunish etc immediate problem is not how to run away from his country. But a baby in Nigeria study hard to run away or use boat escape. The rests above countries also have a very poor labour remuneration. Or poor economy, or crime. But we just different for reasons I don't know.

U can immigrants to Spain or France etc and get passport or whatever. But u can never be a Spanish or French man. People will still associate ur country of origin to u. U will never gain respect on the average European street as much as a Korean, Chinese, Kuwaiti, Malaysian, Vietnamese etc. No matter how rich u have become, if u live in west side, a lot of party houses, clubs or some social group will bounce u and ur children on the ground that u just an African.

We seen by others like beggars, lazy, unintelligent because we as Africans are always begging. Never self reliant on anything. Those without fertile soil are sending bread and medicine/water to people who are soil rich beyond imagination. Always blaming something for our woes.

Did Buhari fall from the sky. We blessed with bad leaders because an average Nigeria is bad. Leaders a product of the society. Point the finger at yourself first before pointing to the government. Are u not corrupt? Don't u cheat,? If u cheat with 100 naira, what will stop u from stealing billions when dispose to it?

Abeg forget matter.

Forgive me for prying, but did you listen to IFM's Rufai Useni on the 'Praise Jam show' earlier today?

Your post seems to mirror his submission about the mentality of the average Nigerian.

Typical Nigerian always trying to steal awards & titles.

Please tell us the year Finidi George was rated the best winger in the world.

He never made it into any FIFA XI neither was he ever on the bench. He was never considered for any African not to talk of World awards so how can he be rated as the best? He has never been Nigeria's best player at any point of his career sef.

Why do Nigerians like claiming imaginary titles?

Ah ok ok. Must have been a coincidence. Just got home from work, not able to see some updates yet.

But however, have always extensively held this view among my friends discussions right from uniben days. Somethings are very clear to me as to the challenges of Africa and Nigeria. Learned these because I grew up in the core streets of Nigeria. Our mentality and culture is strange to others.

Some horrible practices have being systematically institutionalised. E.g corruption, cheating etc either openly or ignored because is become a norm. Hence, u rejected by the society if u do opposite of these. Reason why fighting corruption is an illusion. The everyday side cash is more attractive to the bank security man than his salary. Same for police, army, civil servants, churches, families etc. People practically just say, give to Cesar what belongs to him. Because is a norm to just do these. Same guys want a good hospital, functioning water supply and electricity etc after accepting cheating and corruption as norm. Like eating ur cake and have it back thing.

Abeg I dey vex here

May God give us the grace to be humble with whatever success that comes our way.

Gosh I remembered his bullet shot goal against Morocco at the national stadium Lagos in the afcon 2000, that was where he celebrated with that “I can’t hear you” hand on ear sign

Has the Nigerian police been able to fish out the policeman who fired the shot into the Rangers bus that killed his junior brother Igeniwari?

Nigeria owes this man big time and that is why he has settled in Spain.

Has FIFA ever told you the criteria they use for such selections? The sooner you rid yourself of this neo-colonialist mentality, the better. When Algeria was ranked as the best team in Africa at a time Nigeria was the African Champions, did you ask yourself how such a ranking could possibly be?

Perhaps youdid not watch that match in July 1991 against Burkina Faso at the National Stadium in Lagos when he launched himself onto the world stage as an unknown player from Sharks FC: 4 assists and a cracking 7th goal.

We do not need FIFA's racist rankings to know who our best are.

Can some one please rewind time. . . . since those glory days, we've not had:

a 7 like Finidi George
an 11 like Amuneke
a 10 like Okocha
an 8 like Amokachie
a 9 like Yekini
a baller like Kanu

It's same thing everywhere in the world, the glory days of football are over. What we have now are mediocre players chasing money upandan.
Brazil has not produced another gaucho or delima, Dunga, no other Henry,Zidane or platini in France, likewise Beckham, Scholes, shearer in England, or a Figo, rui Costa, Deco, Baia in Portugal, not to talk about the great Dutch of De Boer brothers, seedorf, Davids, Zenden, Stam, Vandaser. And what about the New Azzuri of Baggio, Delpiero, zola, cannavaro, baresi, Maldini and host of others. And don't forget our African brothers of Raba manja, Mustapha Hadji, Patrick Nboma, kalilou Fadiga, Goerge Weah, Nurudeen Naybet etc.
I can conveniently name 100 different players with no replica in today's shitty world of football players. Nearly every country of this world had stars in their teams in those days that plays in top leagues in Europe.
