This is why i said if anyone on this platform is in atlanta he should hit me up, we are having a success party next week saturday, about 4 of his student just got their first jobs ( All six figures).. One of them got two jobs at once about $320k his 8th and 9th interview, surely i am next to ply that route.. Is it only Google and facebook that is the only company that pays good in the whole 50 states?? Remove that mentality from your head.. I sleep and eat ziprecruiter.com. dice.com, careerbuilder.com, monster.com none of those sites will actually give u a definite pay, they always base pay on estimates..

I wont talk about this again but i will be willing to liberate anyone who is willing to learn contact me, if you are in the Atlanta area or even Tennessee hit me up and see for ur self..

Wait, you said you came to the US about two years ago, right? On what visa did you come?

Well, it's up to you, but I don't see the thread being derailed since the discussion is still about yankee. The OP created it to share his experiences in yankee, and having others share their experiences as well wouldn't be a bad idea; it actually keeps the thread alive during times like these when the OP is absent.

He either probably came here with here with either a green card or H1 visa. H1 visa are very common especially with people working in the IT, the problem with them is that it takes a while to get a a green card with them and sometimes finding someone to sponsor you which is why a lot of Indians on this program are moving to Canada with Skilled workers program where you can get PR immediately.

Whats the best route to get into Nursing? Going the BSN route from the Jump or doing the common two yrs and later BSN ?

Doing two years and BSN right after is the best. After which you do masters and Nurse practitioner. No time to waste wink

He doesn’t have to do that nurse practitioner, he should first get some experience and decides if you like nursing first and they have other options like crna which is areally good.

Bros. Greetings. I just discovered this thread today in my search for answers and I think you're very knowledgeable about this stuff. I'm trying to get into the USA to study computer science but my problem is I left high school 8 years ago. Do you think I have any chance of getting admitted, possibly with a reasonable scholarship too?

I'll refer you to the OP for more current advice. I left high school back when Olunloyo was still the Governor of Oyo state grin

I'm more versed on legal family immigrations (I'm currently at NVC for my Mother In Laws green card application).

Good luck on your travels. And never take no for an answer.

Can you explain better what you mean. Are you worried about your age or admittance tests?

I think maybe I'm asking the wrong question. I'm not scared about the tests, and my waec was actually really good. What I'm saying is, I'm not sure I can get transcripts from high school, and recommendations too are a no-no since most of my teachers have left. I wonder if the prospective schools can overlook these two items?

Look up the admission link of the school you are interested in. Email or chat with the school directly and explain just like you have here. They will tell you for sure what they can/will not overlook. Anything else here is speculation at best. Do not be intimidated, it is their job to recruit the greatest minds (and willing pockets) out there.
Best wishes to you.

I dislike all these PM me for more info stuffs. If you know you have a pathway that's genuine and could help people, why dont you make it open.
Nursing isn't bad especially for new immigrants and it could afford you a decent life here. 30 bucks per hours as a RN is t bad for someone with a spouse who also works. You just got to know how you spend.
IT has been taken over by East Asians and it would be kinda difficult for someone with an African accent to get a pretty decent job.

There are people who are doing well in the $19/hr range on one income. It is like you said, controlling the spending. You have to make a budget and stick to it. The American economy is a revolving economy. It is designed to keep the money circulating through out. But you just have to know how to avoid certain traps, such as housing expenses. Financial advisors say not to spend more than 1.5x your income on housing.

You are very wrong sir, Nigerians have a far better Accent than the East Asians.. We have Nigerians who have very decent jobs with their thick Accent.. Stay Positive

Not True bro, an RN Cant be making $19 an hour in this world and the next world to come... So far so good with what i have seen IT is the most lucrative field in the US right now.. six figures is guaranteed, depending on what aspect of IT.. I know of two of my friends who rakes in more than $700k a year, some are making $300k..The Nursing field is over populated.
$700k!, your friends must be reputable gurus in cyber security.

Idk. Ive not done it. It wouldnt make sense unless you had definite failproof plans on being able to complete. Rn programs are too competitive to hold a spot for anyone. Online schooling may be a more viable route for you.

I made six figures fresh out the boat, it all boils down to how you package yourself and the years of experience you put on your resume, if you can defend it 6 figures is not far fetched.. I am also in IT..
what aspect of the IT industry are you in?

Please read the above many times so that you can comprehend properly.

It's all there.

There is not here where you need to know someone or a Bros.

They actually want you to come to their school if you're legitimate and have funds.

Email them, compose your thoughts clearly and you should get the direct and specific answers.
