IamPatriotic:
if you don't listen to the program "political platform" please don't hastily criticise NBC I was an ardent listener of the program until the build up to the 2015 general election, Ihedu Aniagwu now Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Government was still in DAAR Communication, he was a huge disappointments to ethical journalism, he was a PDP presenter.
Another presenter on the program that should be sanctioned is Ijeoma Osamo although she doesn't know anything other than castigate APC and other tribes other than Igbos.
Mustapha Mohammed is another person on the said program that needs to be cautioned , he supports anything Hausa/Muslim blindly. the only anchor in the program that is not totally guilty of breeching broadcasting ethics is Amaechi Anakwe, Uju Eje and Adebayo Bodunrin the only veteran broadcaster among them.
I totally agree with you,the mustapha guy is biased and not logical in analysis..... But I love the program...

Please, also provide me links where El'Rufai insulted Gej or made any incisive comment before the 2015 election. I'll really appreciate it.
But one thing you must understand is, whether Apc or Pdp, our politicians are all the same .
That why good ppl who know whats good have to start getting involved in politics.
amaechi threathened on air in full view of all nigerians that APC would form a parallel govt if PDP won 2015 election? Is that not a treasonable statement of the highest order?

So that they will commit same crime?
how? you clamp down on a person for committing a crime, but you refuse to disclose the details of the crime thereby leaving other people in the dark on what not to say/do.

what if the station simply broadcast the opinion of some people critical of this administration?

what if they simply asked hard questions from a pmb stooge who was upset about the line of questioning & decides to use government power to deal with the station?

let us know what exactly happened so that other stations committing same offence can be reported as appropriate.

anyway, for this administration, there are 2 rules, one for its supporters & another for its critics.

The days they committed the offence was provided. The program was provided. They told AIT the offence. If they told everyone, that will mean committing same offence.

you mean Jonathan's government that stopped circulation of a news paper and sent DSS to shut down a book at the printing press allowed the media to have a field day?
Serious media hate speech started when APC emerged. Democracy left when Jonathan bowed down to defeat. If you doubt this, you aren't in Nigeria, or you are but chose to ignore.
What is left now, is for the government of the day to shut down internet in the whole country. It may happen if care is not taking as we approach election month. People who kill by cutlass, will never allow anyone holding a cutlass behind him. The majority of Nigerians saw hell in the last three years, and i don't think most are willing to witness such again in the next three.

***Protesters and Senator Shot in Rivers: Another gut wrenching incident that demonstrated the partisan nature of our security apparatus under ex president Jonathan. In a continuation of the government's crackdown on the opposition, citizens who were on a peaceful protest in Rivers state were shot at with live and rubber bullets and a Senator was hit twice in the chest. Thankfully, he
survived and a serious crises was averted.

*** ekiti was under siege and APC members were arrested, a sitting governor (amaechi) was prevented from entering ekiti state (all Nigerians should have freedom of movement)

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), has fined DAAR Communications (owner of AIT/Raypower) N500,000 for persistent violation of the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code.

NBC’s Head of Public Affair, Maimuna Jimada, via a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, said comments made on Raypower’s programme “Political Platform” was against the broadcasting code.

Mrs Jimada said that the organisation was sanctioned due to “provocative, inflammatory and divisive comments” by anchors of the political platform.

She said the Commission on May 2, 2017, Aug. 15, 2017 and February 2018, held meetings with staff of DAAR Communications to caution them on unprofessional manner of anchors of the programme.

She stated that the Commission had charged the team handling the programme to be fair, and balance their reportage.

According to her, during the Feb. 7 meeting, the Commission stressed the need to comply with the broadcasting code to avoid sanctions.

“The Political Platform episode on July 24, was marked by sensational and heated expression of opinion by its anchors, who went on to make unproven and inciting allegations.

“For avoidance of doubt, the Director-General drew the attention of DAAR Communications to the following provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code: (1) Section 1.9.3:

“A presenter/anchor shall not express his or her personal opinion in a programme.”

“Also Section 5.2.7: ‘A broadcaster shall, in using political material for news, avoid taking inflammatory and divisive matter in its provocative form and Section 5.2.5 stated that political broadcasts shall be in decent language,’’ she said.

Mrs Jimada reiterated that broadcasting stations should ensure that anchors of their programmes were properly informed and trained on the ethics of the profession as well as the provisions of the broadcasting code.

Governors Forum Crises (2013): A lot of political pundits insist this marked the beginning of Jonathan downfall, forget his crass incompetence.
In a simple election involving 35 participants and two contestants, Jonathan's interference saw to it that this more or less political pressure group was fractured beyond redemption resulting in the formation of the PDP Governors Forum chaired by his stooge Godswill Akpabio and another faction of the forum chaired by his preferred candidate who lost in the contest, Jonah Jang.
The election whose video went rival at that time due to its outcome saw Amaechi pulling 19 votes while Jonah Jang pulled 16. Democrat Jonathan insisted Jang won the election and recognised him as the Chairman of the forum giving rise to the much publicised PDP arithmetics where 16 is greater than 19.
This set the precedence for the scenarios that played out in Rivers and Ekiti Houses of Assembly while our "Hero" stood idly by, giving a tacit nod to the obvious anomalies as state police were used to suppress the opposition.

***In Adamawa, Nyako was impeached at the instance of Gej & his party to have decamped to APC. His next stop was Nassarrawa but for the people's resistance. Oshiomole, Amaechi were all threatened with impeachment including Gov.Shettima for quite an obvious reason.
Akure airport was shut down to punish the opposition leaders who had converged for Gov. Fayemi's campaign rally just as Maiduguri Airport was also closed forcing Governor Shettima travel by road, but suddenly a private plane bearing Alimodu Sherrif was allowed to land at the same Airport the same day.
