Yes, do the standard checks for determining original Xiaomi phones. There are fakes and refurbished. Sorry, no intention to panic you, is just the fact.

Very simple do a lot of YouTube review, to familiarize yourself with the device you're buying

If the model of the phone was launched within the last 6 you have nothing to fear about fake

Check specs well and confirm if it's the same, also download cpuz if possible and check if the specs are consistent. You can also check the website on the carton if it's the office Xiaomi website.

Chinese rom does not have google apps. Like playstore
. Gmail etc but global rom has it. Becos chinese govt banned google apps in china.. So when you buy a chinese version version of the xiaomi.. The seller will flash global rom for the buyer which contains google apps.. And i prefer to buy the chinese version which the seller will flash global rom into becos it more solidly built compared to global version out of the box beta display etc.. This is becos chinese pple know their own tins wella.. And more also seller helps to unlock bootloader of the phone snd its a few dollars cheaper too


Now the first foto is the chinese variant but when d seller is sending it out of china he wl flash global rom... The second one is global from the boc

Never underestimate criminals(a.k.a cloners).
They can flash a custom rom on a phone that looks as close to xiaomi as possible, then craft and paste a xiaomi logo somewhere on the phone. as close to looking like the original as possible. Newbies are the target of this kind of scam.


Many of the so called fairly used, London used, etc phones sold in many markets are actually clones.

One way to quickly identify if a phone is cloned is by visiting myip.ms
The site shows details about your phone under "Your browser agent".

To be 100% certain, open Google device manager on the phone. Google will show you the real name of the phone, no questions asked.

Mi Max's size makes it an acquired taste. You Shouldn't randomly suggest it for people to buy for the battery life alone.
