Thanks a lot bro. I didn't even reason things this way in the first place. She called to negotiate a trip worth minimum of 5k yesterday (I was driving home then), agreed on fare, later she demanded I called her when I got home n was settled (this was like 11.50pm) got home n called back as agreed, that was when her intentions were made known. Babe Is a sex starved nympho n a 3some'ist, but as she cant afford a 3some, a one on one would fulfill her fantasies. One of my rules of thumb is to thoroughly scrutinize things that presents itself easily. Proverbs 7 6-27 reminded me of d consequences.,May God help us all.

a lesson to be learned. cool

Proverbs 7:6-27 King James Version (KJV)
For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Story 1
During one of our installs, the client shared with us how Mr Ayo (not his real name) borrowed his brothers car, and waylaid in the night somewhere in Lagos. Unknown to the thieves, the car had a tracker in it. That same night they tracked the vehicle to a military baracks (apparenntly the thieves had accomplices with military connections). They went with the police and they were able to recover the car (THE DEMOBILIZE FUNCTION OF THE TRACKER WAS USED TO ENSURE THE CAR DID NOT MOVE UNTIL THEY GOT TO THAT LOCATION)...

Story 2
Mr Bayo was bout entering his car in the night somewhere in Lagos when he was attacked. He immediately used his phone to demobilize the car some minutes after they had zoomed away with the car. The thieves ran away when they discovered the car wasn't strating again. The car was tracked to Ajah. Apparently the thieves ran away in fear with the keys of the car grin

Greeting from my observation bay.

I have been driving Honda Civic for almost 12months now and I do average of 250km everyday. Sitting inside Honda Civic day in day out. I think I can advise on the car. The car looks small from the outside but the inside is like that of Corolla.

Honda Civic is strong but the issue is that the car is low. You have to be careful on rough road to avoid dent by your side. It's juts like driving corolla sport. The low arm bushing is a major problem with the car. But I have resolved to knack bushing to the other arm since I tried it with one and it works.

Every other thing is perfect. No wiring wahala, no a/c issue since I bought the car. The A/C is mortuary standard.
Which year are you driving?

I personally believe Uber and Taxify are not doing enough to get customers in Nigeria.
And this is the beginning of all stakeholder's woes.
Granted, everyday; new riders are starting to use ride share as their preferred means of transportation. But also, a lot of drivers and owners have heard you can make some money on ride share, and they are signing up by the thousands monthly.
I don't know what revenue figures these companies are posting (although I have a feeling profits are increasing), but what I do know is that ever since the inception of ride share in Nigeria, earnings have been on a steady decline.

Initially it was that you could make 100,000 per week. Of course a good percentage of this was some sort of incentive or the other.
Requests were easier to find for drivers, this was not because there were so many riders but because the ratio of riders to vehicles was much lower than it is now.

When Uber came to Nigeria, there was a loud bang. Even though everybody heard of Uber at the same time; obviously riders got a head start on Partner-drivers. Think about this, for a rider to begin to use the app, all he had to do was download it and start using the service. A Partner-Driver on the other hand had to buy/own a duly registered vehicle, do an inspection, go through a training session and a test before they could start to use the app. Riders had a 1000 Naira entrance threshold into using the app, that same threshold was about 2,000,000 Naira for Partner-Drivers.

So very quickly, rider numbers swelled, and when partner-drivers began using the app the riders were waiting.
At that time Uber was all over the blogs, it was new so it was on everybody's social media timeline. People wanted to be the first to tell their friends about rideshare. The cool new way to get around.
But the novelty has long since worn off now, in fact in some cases, rideshare is beginning to get a bad rap among riders. You can go on social media to see how many negative reviews are starting to creep up on Uber and Taxify, despite their usually excellent service.

and, it's almost beginning to feel like demand is starting to out weigh supply.
When Uber first came, they had great programs for getting new users on board. There was the Uber brand ambassador program, there was their partner referral program, there were all sorts of incentives. He'll, everybody was talking about it. "Make 400,000 Naira per month with your car, signup on Uber!"
I still remember those days with a warm smile.
Uber stopped almost all of these except for partner referrals and one or two scattered incentives here and there that seem more like plastic gimmicks than true incentives.

No customer acquisition programs, no ads. Just a boring "Get 500 Naira discount upon registration" that nobody knows about.

Thankfully, I have begun seeing and hearing Uber adverts in Nigeria now. I still think they are missing that human, word-of-mouth feel that their old programs gave them, where your friends and family wanted you to use an Uber. But what do I know.
Please Uber especially (because you take 25% and hence should have a bigger marketing budget) a lot of us are depending on you getting your act right.

We are waaaaay more heavily invested in this than you are, we need the the realities to reflect this. You need to reinvest more of that money into customer acquisition. We need to see you actively trying to get us more customers.

You all need to pay extra focus on getting new riders especially if you insist on taking 25%(and 15%). There are too many vehicles on the platform and too little riders. If you do not work on getting new riders for your investors to feed on. It's your 25% they will start looking at next, and if they can't get a part of it, they will go to a platform that offers them more riders/earnings, Taxify, take note with your 15%.

If you all don't invest in more programs that will get us stakeholders more riders, someone else will.
This is not a shade or a sub, it's a piece of advice.

Hope u plan to proffer some solutions to the various problems you have identified.

A Taxify driver, John Otuechere, who was wrongly accused by his passenger of stealing her bag and eventually tortured by the SARS operatives she reported to, has filed for charges over violation of his human rights.

The driver added that he was arrested, detained and tortured on the order of one Mrs Alice Isah.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Isah who came back into the country from training in Dubai on Sunday, July 15, had called the Taxify driver to pick her up from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and drop her off at her residence on Lekki Gardens Estate, Lagos State.

Otuechere said while they were on the way, his car developed a fault which prompted him to park to examine the vehicle.

He said:

“We were on the Third Mainland Bridge when my car started making an unusual sound. I did not stop because it was dangerous; so I managed it until we left the bridge.

“I eventually parked beside a RRS Patrol vehicle to examine the car. While examining the car, a guy crossed over from the other side of the road to assist me. I don’t know him, but he said he was a mechanic, and we discovered that only one nut was left holding the tyre to the bolts on the driver side.

“The woman (Isah) at this point got down from the car to observe what was going on. She saw that we had to unscrew one nut from the other tyres to fasten the tyre on the driver side to the vehichle. I gave the man N100 and he crossed back to the other side of the road before we moved on.”

The 37-year-old driver said they had no other stopover till they got to Isah’s residence where they brought down her luggage. He said the passenger, at this point, discovered that one of her bags had gone missing.

Otuechere said he suggested taking her back to the airport to check whether she forgot the bag, adding that instead, Isah accused him of conniving with the mechanic to steal her bag.

He said:

“I told her that I would take her to the airport and back for free, but she insisted that she personally put the bag in the boot of my car.

“She held me and started slapping me, calling me a thief. One of her neighbours and the estate’s chief security officer accompanied her, and I was taken to the Ogombo Police Station.

“The second day, when the policeman who investigated the case suggested that we searched for the bag at my house and the airport, she said he was supporting me and she petitioned the state police command and the case was transferred to Ikeja.

“Immediately I got to SARS in Ikeja, a policeman, identified as Omoleme, hit me many times with an iron bar to make me confess in the presence of the woman. He said he would kill me and nothing would happen. I was in tears because of the pain; my blood was all over the floor and I was told to pull off my dress and start cleaning it.

“I was taken to the man in charge of SARS; when I tried to explain to him that I was innocent, he ordered his men to hang me because I was not saying the truth.

“SARS cell is a graphic picture of hell; I saw over 70 people inside one room and immediately I entered, I was welcomed with several blows, slaps and kicks.”

The Abia State indigene said it took the intervention of his lawyer before the SARS operatives agreed to search for the bag at the airport.

He added that the bag was eventually found and recovered at the airport where the woman forgot it.

Otuechere, whose two fingers had been broken during the torture, said he wanted justice and compensation for being humiliated and tortured for a crime he did not commit.

He said:

“When my lawyer saw my condition, she was annoyed with the officers for torturing me without investigation. She insisted that they should search for the bag at the airport; so a policeman went with my sister. I was told that the bag was found at the airport.

“When they returned, I was released. The woman has not called to apologise; even the officers of SARS did not apologise for torturing me without investigation. I want justice, I demand a written apology from F-SARS and Mrs Alice Isah for wrongful accusation, detention and torture.

“I also demand N10m compensation for my inability to provide for my family because of the torture.

Otuechere’s sister, Chika, said Isah was not remorseful of what she did to her brother after they recovered the bag at the airport.

Chika said:

“When we got to the airport, we went to where they normally put missing luggage. We didn’t even stress ourselves before we found the bag there. The airport officers told us that they picked it on the floor of the airport.

“The woman was not remorseful about what she caused. The SARS officers were even harassing me despite knowing that she was the one who forgot the bag.

“They broke my brother’s fingers because of this issue. I want the government to fight for us. They should end SARS, they are killers.

Isah, however, said she never took the law into her own hand, adding that she involved the police because she needed them to recover her bag which contained vital document.

Isah said:

“The car started jerking on Third Mainland Bridge and he stopped to examine what happened and discovered it was the tyre. I had to tell him to manage it till we left the bridge.

“After disembarking the bridge, one strange guy came and I saw them looking at the tyre. The driver told me that it was some missing nuts that caused the problem.

“When we got to my residence, we could not locate the bag. Because of those two stopovers and the strange fellow, I thought that that was how my back got missing.”

Isah said she reported the case at the Ogombo Police Station, where Otuechere was detained, adding that she reported to SARS because she urgently needed her bag.

“I was the one that went to the SARS to report. When they heard from me and John, they decided that we should go to the airport where the bag was found. I don’t know how to explain how I felt when I saw the bag at the airport. I did not torture him; I only reported the matter to the law enforcement agents because I wanted my bag.

“When we were leaving, they said we should bring our lawyers, so I went there with my lawyer and they exchanged addresses and phone numbers. I have been waiting to hear from my lawyer since then.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said Otuechere was not tortured.

He said:

“What happened was that a case of stealing was lodged against him at Ogombo division. Before investigation into the case could start, the complainant in the case moved it to another level of police investigation, which is SARS.

“Through diligent investigation by the F-SARS team, the missing bag was recovered. The Taxify driver was subsequently released on administrative bail. I must tell you on good authority that throughout the period of the investigation, he was not tortured by the F-SARS men.

“However, it must be noted that the suspect was roughened up a bit by a mob. For him now to turn around to put any form of blame on the F-SARS men who worked hard to recover the stolen bag is most unfortunate.

“Meanwhile, investigation into the case is still ongoing and efforts are on to identify and arrest the mob that attacked him before he was handed over to the police.”

Veegoline:
Just Imagine
a driver wakes up 5am. Goes to work for uber and closes by 11pm, reaches home 12am tp sleep and wake up 5am again.

He makes 10k everyday on uber

Uber takes 2500 and leaves him with 7500

He will pay Car owner
He will buy data
He will buy recharge card
He will buy fuel
He will save to buy oil and service car
He will save to renew insurance
He will save to renew car papers
He will save to fix car emergency problems

But Uber on the other hand will collect 2500 from other 1000 drivers in lagos in the name of commission. 2500 multiply by 1000 is equal to 2.5m.

So uber makes more than N2.5m everyday from services rendered by drivers and treats them as shit.

All uber does is pay govt tax, pay few staff and pay rent.

Its drivers that still pay inspection fee.
So, if there are 1000 drivers in lagos, Uber has already bagged N2m naira on inspection fee, talkless of people who had to pay 2times because they failed inspection and people who's cars got blocked and had to return for inspection.

This is a big *slap* on us Africans.
Let uber reduce that commission to 10% or leave Nigeria.

Nice one
