We caused it. There's so much bottleneck in doing business in the east. The inability of we igbos to release lands for business is a major debilitating factor in business.

We also have the problem of people feeling like they won't be welcomed in the area, that's why it is getting more difficult.

We need to rebrand the east to be cosmopolitan in nature. Let everyone feel at ease to do business. I am not trying to invite other religions to this but it is very difficult for Muslims from the southwest and north to want to settle in the east unlike southwest.

The poor performance of igbo states in development indices goes to show the dire need of smart minds in developing the region. The concrete and manual system of economy is making development run at a very slow pace.

More so, our inability to pick sectors of the economy to invest on so that the ripple effect of the development of such sectors can be used in developing a tier-2 sector that will sustain the region.

We keep moving around doing almost nothing. We keep making it difficult for indigenous investors to invest because our issues are much. We continue neglect the importance of electricity, security, water resources and good environmental ambience. We are not looking for people to rebrand the mental outlook of the east in the minds of other people.

We need lose some huge sum of money so as to gain. We need to start reducing the prices for lands so that people can buy lands and build business. In some parts of the country, a plot can still go for 70k, but in the east, even the evil forest goes for nothing less than 800k per same plot.

We need to device better workable methods to drive businesses, healthcare, industrialization and hospitality.
