Guys, In response to an earlier thread I am creating this one.

For the third time I am accepting a job offer from a firm whose recruiter head hunted me through LinkedIn. I have gotten over 6 offers, tens of HR chats and now, for the third time I move through LinkedIn.

Without meaning to brag, I am not talking small change. Its the double digit (If you know, you know). If you are trying to learn how to use LinkedIn but addicted to Facebook, Instagram, Snap-chat and those other social media for lesser beings then you are not really ambitious. I can only be found wondering about on LinkedIn and Nairaland.

In order to be successfully using LinkedIn you need to be on it almost every day. Have over 3-5K connections. 90% of which should be a mixture of HR and your industry practitioners.

Try from time to time to Engage in professional group discussions and watch useful videos about things relating to your field. Apart from the 3 jobs, I have also gotten consulting jobs from firms that want to come invest in Nigeria. Meaning that don't only hope to be head hunted. Have something you have to offer. A skill that you are sure of.

You're not using LinkedIn well. I have just 600+ connections but I've gone for over 10 "head-hunt" interviews, over 8 "applied" interviews.

My current job came from LinkedIn. I was contacted by a HR looking for someone in my profession.

Do you know how to network, brand yourself and infuse relevant keywords in your profile?

I remember how some ignorant people nearly tore me to shreds for posting the quoted post above in your previous thread.

LinkedIn, when used correctly, remains a great platform for getting jobs.

It is same with uploading any other document. I must stay that I have never uploaded my CV on the site. What matters most is your profile. Recruiters dont look for your CV on LinkedIn. They look out for your profile. and they post vacancies for users to see.

I have over 5K recruiters and HR professionals in my connection list. Another 2,5K industry professionals. If you build your network to that level you will have little or no off time seeing these and being called for one chat or the other every month.
