FarahAideed:Those are the dates they were completed not started. Like I suspected earlier, most were started by OBJ, suspended by Yar'Adua and completed by GEJ. |

FYI... Omotosho power plant phase II was started in 2010 by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC). It has four units with a capacity of 500 MW, and the plant came online in May 2012. The cost of the restoration of 4 Plant units and balance of plant at Omotosho Power Plc. was the sum of USD 10,092,771.15 payable at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of payment, plus N78,753,893.30 (528,898.40 USD) for 5% VAT with a completion period of 6 months. Deborah Brautigam wrote that China Eximbank did not provide financial support for this expansion, which was apparently scaled back to 500MW instead of 750MW, because Nigeria's government defaulted on financing after paying a downpayment. Another source reported that the plant was currently co-operated by CMEC and SEPCO III. The power plant began full operation in December 2012. Phase one of this project is project ID#27948. AZeD1: |

deji68:This is Phase II which tells you there was a Phase I. Also it was started in 2010 means the project, design and feasibility studies had had been done before that. The contract for the construction of this second phase development of the power plant at Omotosho (Omotosho II) was initially executed with the contractors Messrs China Machinery & Engineering Corporation (CMEC) in April 2007 as a combined cycle power plant with 4 GE Frame 9 gas turbines and additional 2 steam turbines powered by the gas turbine exhaust heat recovery boilers. However, work could not commence on the project because NIPP funding was suspended immediately the contract was awarded. The project was re-scoped to only 4 gas turbines operating in simple cycle mode following the wise counsell you represented and partly captured above. Construction works commenced on site in April 2010 and progressed rapidly according to schedule. The first gas turbine unit plus the common systems went into full commercial operation upon the conclusion of final completion tests on 14th July 2012, while the other three units were completed and put to commercial use in quick succession on 24th September, 30th October and 15th December 2012 respectively. read more here.... http://247ureports.com/president-jonathan-commissions-omotosho-phase-ii-power-station/ |

FarahAideed:Like I said earlier OBJ started GEJ completed. I am not taking anything away from him. In fact, OBJ takes most of the blame because the projects were sited in places with no gas infrastructure. Its why most of them are either non operational or working far below capacity. |

Well, from your link...the contract was suspended till it was rescoped, funded, and completed by GEJ government...using Lagos-Ibadan railway as example PMB will get the credit if completed no matter the feasibility studies ,project design etc done by GEJ/OBJ .....
