President Goodluck Jonathan,Thursday, called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to come together to build a stronger party that would regain power in future elections.

He spoke at the presiddential Villa while receiving the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization’s (PCO) report from its Director General, Ahmadu Ali.

While warning members of the party who are defecting to other parties that they would be worse off, President Jonathan noted that despite losing the presidential, the PDP still remains a formidable party.

He said though he did not consult anybody before calling General Buhari to concede defeat, the president said he did so on behalf of all members of the party.

“I still believe though we have lost presidential elections, some national assembly elections, governorship elections,especially in the north, PDP is still the dominant party. Let us not judge PDP by the result of the presidential elections.”

“Our duty is to go back and identify areas of challenges ‎so that the party will come up strong and play the roleas a very strong party. PDP is still the most organized party, is still the party that is not owned by anybody, is still the party that whatever you are you can get to any level with your competences and so on.”

“So I encourage members of our party to remain loyal to the party, not to be so disillusioned because we lost presidential election and decide to go where they think they will fill their stomachs or something. Is not easy I have been here for five years plus, you hardly satisfy even 15 perent of those who work for you.

“Those people running and those already cross-carpeting, they will come back on an empty stomach because they will touch the primary members of their party, before they get to you, they know you are coming because you are hungry, before it will get to you the food will be gone.”

While stressing that the PDP remains a formidable party, president Jonathan insinuated that even in those areas thatb “If you look at the result, the difference is just 2.5 million votes and if you look at the areas where it is perceived that PDP scored so low, PDP couldn’t have gotten those kinds of scores but the elections are over, the country first.”

“It is not as if Jonathan alone made the sacrifice it’s all of us. I made the pronouncement but some of us are paying the prize. Some people pay more prize than I do, I know how some of you are already being persecuted and the kind of situation facing you. The key thing is that we must continue to unite, as a party we must continue to work hard so that as we go into subsequent elections 2019, 2023 and so on and so forth, PDP will continue to come up strong. Even in the interest of the nation, we need PDP.” He said.

Most times people fail to understand that in life there some things you don't fight with brute forces. If you meet a situation on ground, all you need do is to find the best way to tackle it without being partial.

Gej met corruption on ground, what did he do, he looked for solutions, hence he introduced all forms of measures to discourage it. From cashless, IPS,Single treasury account, deployment of CCTV cameras that has been abandoned and many other measures.

Before now, if you want to send money to someone, you either send the person cash or you go to the bank to pay in the money but Gej team was able to introduce the e payment system that have not only eased off on how we make business but reduce the high way robbery attacks on the traders.
You may argue that Gej wasn't the one that introduced it directly but it happened during his administration for he gave the people he worked with the free hand to use their brains.

I am not for APC or Pdp, All I am for is a strong institution, with strong institution, 80% of our problems would be taken care of, the remaining 20% will be based on the policies of which ever administration that comes onboard.

I say things the way it is. Wait a minute, who started Lagos Ibadan expressway project, Lagos Ibadan expressway railway system,mambila hydro project, Abuja light rail, Abuja kaduna rail project, Lagos and Abuja modern airport projects,youwin programme which has produced thousands of youth entrepreneurs. My cousin who doesn't know anybody in govt was a beneficiary. How much was the security vote of the fed govt when Gej was there, compared to the 1bn usd used for same purpose but without results, how much was usd to naira as at the time Gej was in office? Gej govt had the best agric programme in the history of Nigeria. Fertiliser policy was on point I can go on and on. Though there were pockets of farmers-herders crisis when Gej was there but was properly managed. It has never been this worse. Gej would visit sites where there were crises but buhari shuned benue after their people were slaughtered as ram but could visit the neigb boring Nasarawa and asked ortom to come meet him there to resolve herders crises. Ortom would have been the most foolish governor ever lived , had he honoured the call. All his service chiefs always defy his instructions but he couldn't do anything to remove them. Mention one single achievement of the apc to me . All the projects commissioned by them since they came to power were Gej projects and most of them had attained reasonable levels of completion before apc got there. Gej achieved the aforementioned in 4 years. Tell me if boko haram is fought to finish despite the huge sum spent, the same fighter jets Gej was going to buy, which the apc was crying upon was what they voted the whopping 1bn Dollar to buy. The same shekau apc told us has been killed more than 4 times is still waxing strong. They claim they'd use part of the 1bn usd to fight insecurity. Gej said let's remove subsidy we said noooo. Apc cried foul. Now, apc came to beg us, that they'd use the money to build roads, fix our refineries, provide jobs, fight insecurity, etc and we complied, thinking they'd truly change the situation of the common man as they claimed. Amazingly, none of those mentioned was ever done and we hear they still pay subsidy. All our refineries are in a state of moribund. So sad They said 30k police was deployed to Ekiti for election whereas but only 6k was deployed. They pocketed money for Logistics and accommodation of remaining 24k. Part of it was used in vote buying which was condemned by the international observers who came to witness it, including the BBC. Any day the apc leaves office, their yansh too go open and we'd know who stole more. Even if the pdp was buying votes as alleged, why the apc that came under umbrella of change? Someone pls help me out here.
