Anambra has Onitsha and Nnewi.
Abia has Aba.
Enugu is rebranding Nsukka.
Imo is still stuck at Owerri as all and all.

As little as Owerri is, it is still stuck in dark ages even with unlimited potential. Ikedi was just there. Rochas had 8 years but used it to return Owerri to the 1800s. Eight fruitful years are more than enough for any leader with vision. Guess who may be coming back? Ohakim! Is the state cursed or what? I don't get it.

/
In the 1980s Imo state, due to the concentration of industries, the government officially designated Aba, Umuahia and Orlu as the industrial hubs of then Imo state.

Abia left Imo state, the concentration of the four tertiary education institutions in Imo at Owerri gave rise to building of hotels for sex tourism in Owerri.

Since then, Imo got stuck up in Owerri. It gradually became strange before some section of Imo state to talk about extending government infrastructures beyond Owerri.
With time, the industries in Orlu area started to pack up. Imo is today in a sorry state.

The Ohakim and Okorocha who suffer Imo people gladly still hold sway in Imo state. Today, Owerri constitute the largest proportion of supporters of either Okorocha for Third term, or Ohakim to return to power, because the duo seriously believe the falsehood that a government is to ignore rest of the state and first use the state's resources to build a modern state capital.

Umunne m dalu ooo.
Our biggest problems in this part of our country is our politicians who by_most of them entered politic by chance, others by appointment by his fellow brothers the rest are through gang of cultism. They don't have vision or missions, their only hope is how to embezzle money by any means possible, buy latest cars, carry women of different sizes and his tenures comes to and end, then his fellow gangster start from where he stopped.
The quest to make quick money has destroyed our culture both the way things are supposed to be done, nobody fears what the Spirit of our ancestors will do them again.
My point here is that as we approach 2019 election, let's vote out the bad eggs and elect those we have trust in them, though isn't easy anyway.
If we managed to elect good guys in a strategic positions , they can read us here and rebuild South East with the speed of light.
Can Igbo leaders come together to make one or two decisions to build one big project in alaigbo with division... Is it possible?

This is amazing. Thanks spyder880.

If you are able to get the current pictures of Asaba, you will be the first here that I know that did it.

I have searched both online and on nairaland for Asaba pictures and I couldn’t find anything. The few that I saw were old.

Thanks for your good job. God bless you and family.

Don't worry, I have Asaba in my plans and will get there soon. I usually pass the city all the time and will love to stay for a few days to explore opportunities there.

It’s is very shocking how obosi went from a neighboring village/small town to a city in less than 10 years.

This is one of the reasons I proudly say igbo Amaka.

If we had the industrial capacity, infrastructure and building technology that China had, we will turn into the most developed region in African within 15 years.

All these marvelous buildings were done with raw man power. Little mordern technology or infrastructure involved.

Re: . by horsepower101: 6:48pm On Aug 03, 2018
If onitsha port is truely concessioned, the first thing that the concessionaire should to is to rapidly expand the port.

With the amount of goods coming into onitsha daily, that small port will be overwhelmed in less than 2 months.
Re: . by Dremca(m): 6:49pm On Aug 03, 2018
More villages and towns are gradually becoming cities with industrial clusters, the likes of Ozobulu, Umuchu and the rest.

Pictorial views of Onitsha/Obosi/Nkpor always elicit nostalgia and pride in the heart of every true Igbo man/woman.

A lot of people are beginning to pay attention. When Igbo folks gather in Los Angeles, it is all about projects and projects in Ala Igbo.

I hear more of Asaba, Onitsha, Awka, Owerri, Aba, Enugu and a lot less about Lagos or Abuja these days.

Perhaps, Buhari and his herdmen are blessings in disguise.
