Wow, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is like a prequel to Deadpool 2. What if the movie wasn't made? Would there have been DP2?

If you haven't seen Hunt for the Wilderpeople, try and get it. It's the basis of Russell's (the fat boy) storyline in DP2.

I think Marvel was able to go with HFTW because Watiti who directed Thor:Ragnarok was also the one that directed HFTW.

I have this movie but I've not gotten around to watching from beginning to end. But I don't think the movie is connected to DP2 in anyway asides from the kid being the same one that was in HFTW. And considering DP is heavy on pop culture references, they probably added the New Zealand background as something like an Easter Egg but I don't think they are related in anyway.

So many references about the boy was in the movie.

A New Zealand boy.

The boy talking about Rap, Tupac, Ice cube.

The boy talking about being a gangster.

Being an orphan. Living in Juvie.

Having anger issues, trusting nobody.

They are all in Hunt for the wilderpeople.

It was exactly his character in HFTW they used.

I was able to connect with his ordeals in DP2.

All they did in DP2 was made him a mutant.


Marvel used the boy's story in Hunt for the wilderpeople to make DP2.

Tony for kukuma used his blazing flames to cut the hand off. OR, Dr. Strange should just form that him sword cut am off. Why the nonsense stress of pulling it off.

That's what I'm saying. The connection is because of the actor was in both movies. That does not mean Hunt is a prequel to DP2. Ok, does it mean because a joke was made by Reynolds in DP in relation to his Green Lantern portrayal, both movies are now connected? Or even better, when he tells Cable "Pump your brakes, Thanos, both movies are now connected? It's part of the act of Deadpool. He's very outrageous with his references.
