Fear gripped residents after an improvised explosive device, was found near a filling station close to Hausa quarters in Asaba, Delta state capital. The discovery which happened yesterday - caused panic among the people after the device which was linked with gas cylinder was found inside a bag in the area.

The police authorities were alerted to the presence of the bomb as men of the anti-bomb squad arrived the area moments later to check on the device.

Residents gathered in their numbers at the scene while expressing their shock over what would have happened if the bomb was not earlier detected.
