Hi, I presume you mean learners permit in Nigeria. I don't think there is a database for the issuance of Learners permits in Nigeria at the moment.

I am asking is it worth it getting a drivers license now with my little experience or just starting over in Alberta. Thanks

Thanks a bunch for this. It's getting clearer. Will surely read through.

Cheers

I assume you've seen this https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-q7000-application-permanent-residence-quebec-skilled-worker-class.htm.
To me it looks clear that Québec pof rules win (and federal is not happy about this hence advice to bring in as much money smiley)
The only federal eligibilities you need to clear are application fees, medicals and security checks.
I did a quick search of your question on canadavisa and answers indicate that pof is not needed until when you land. But you can ask or search by yourself -https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/quebec-skilled-worker-federal-stage-after-csq.298038/page-2
All the best.

Is the process tedious starting over in Alberta or easier if one comes with a Nigerian Drivers License ?

Got to Vfs yesterday and was told passports were 'In Transit'. At noon today got email and sms stating I could come for collection. Two other friends got the same message. Didn't have time to go back today.
I'll pick them up tomorrow.

I collected mine today.

I stand to be corrected, but I think that's even an Mphil, admission stuff in Canada is very competitive.

might be a tough task, but not impossible, why not explore the express entry route.

After you get your learners permit, someone with a class 5 has to be driving with you, until you get your class 5.

It's easier if you come with an authentic drivers license and have some years of driving experience.

Pls for those that recently collected their passports at the Vfs Global office, did they ask one to present any item or document? Thanks

Please what's the collection process like? Did you tender any document? I sent mine through courier but want to collect in person.

You need to present the receipt that contains the tracking number and the passport copy that they gave you. Someone i met there misplaced his own and they told him to get police report and affidavit. Since you sent yours through courier, I'm not entirely sure of the collection process.

So did I. Still undecided as to the best time to make the move. I have been told November may not be as welcoming especially with the cold surfacing and with trying to house hunt and settle initially. October seems okay but will seem rushed based on my schedule.

Left unchecked, the current diplomatic showdown between Canada and Saudi Arabia will have severe consequences for the Canadian economy -at least for the maritime areas, Quebec and parts of Ontario. These areas depend on oil imports from the middle East for gas and as the trans Canada pipeline is far from a reality gas prices and jobs will most likely take a hit. . .

The elections in about 14 months time will be certainly interesting.

For those interested, get your papers now. wink

-The West would be a little affected as well.150,000 tonnes of barley and 75,000 tonnes of wheat were exported to Saudi last year. This is hardly significant though.
- 2,000 manufacturing jobs at risk in London, Ontario. I do not like the idea that Canada produces military vehicles for Saudi. Same weapons might be deployed in Yemen, but people also need to stay employed.
-15,000 international students from Saudi to be withdrawn and transferred to other countries
- 800 Saudi funded medical residents accross Canada may be withdrawn from the residency program. Due to the acute shortage of physicians in Canada, that number is substantial.

Even with Transcanada pipeline, Canada would still depend on Saudis crude in the East. Very few complex refineries can turn Alberta's bitumen into gasoline. Saskatchewans crude is lighter, but it gets transported to buyers in the states as the balkan oilfield is located along the South Eastern part of the province closer to North Dakota.

Canada plans to seek help from the United Arab Emirates and Britain to defuse an escalating dispute with Saudi Arabia, sources said on Tuesday, but close ally the United States made clear it would not get involved.

This is nothing to do with elections though, any government in Canada could have tweeted same message.

In other news, Amazon is about to open a facility that could potentially employ up to 3,000 people in Balzac, just on the outskirt of North Calgary. Some of the vacancies were posted on indeed jobs today.

Okay I got a question to ask as this is the final step before I apply for my PR.
I wanted to take the IELTS but the last sit closer to my centre got filled up quickly. Now I am considering taking CELPIP.

What is your advise on taking the CELPIP instead of IELTS?

Please I need advise from experienced individuals

Sure you will get PR without ICAN. I didn't use my ICAN to get PR. Finance is a booming market.

Please how can one integrate into their banking career with my bsc accounting, 2.5 yrs experience in banking...

I'm not a banker nor an ex-banker so I'm not too sure. However, I know they have several bank roles although you should be willing to start in entry level roles and grow subsequently.

There are also many bridging programmes run by non-profits and schools that help with the knowledge gap.

Blackbuddy:

Hi, write back (explanation letter) to the Tax Office you initially sent the application for child benefits to, explaining the use of wrong currency exchange rate in arriving at your equivalent income for the years you stated. Attach a new set of application forms you've filled out with correct income stated and send all with a copy of the previous form containing the wrong rates (for reference) and you will be fine. There may be a delay in processing your new application as they need to reconcile your position but it's better that you are getting it rectified once and for all.

Thank you very much.

Hi, as at now, CELPIP General Test for PR status to Canada is only available in Canada, Philippines, UAE and USA. Unless you're based in any of those locations, it's not a feasible option. If I may suggest, the earlier you get a date for IELTS and begin to study for it, the better for you. Hope this helps, https://www.celpip.ca/test-locations-fees/

Hi elders,
While searching through job ads for my preferred profession, I keep seeing things like, "Must have a valid drivers license. Must have a personal car."
Does it mean that some companies don't give official cars for official duties? What about fuel and maintenance costs, are they reimbursed?
