That yellow card was silly, was he supposed to let the man strip him naked? Glad to see Nwakaeme looking sharp again.
As as professional player he should know better than hitting blows on your opponent for any reasons.

He should just have fallen and raised his hands in protest. Then the yellow card would have gone through other way.

I think Ogu is still good for Super Eagles..
Wolves are rebuilding and fortifying their squad...where does Iorfa come in here? Will he go on loan or sold?

It was just a normal human reaction. The guy was trying to naked him, the referee should have blown the whistle way before he elbowed the guy.

It was a Europa league match but I agree about the NPFL part. The problem is that once most away teams scores they start faking injuries and doing nonsense. That is one aspect of the league I pray we can change.

On loan Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has stepped up from the B team of FC Porto to the main team after a string of impressive performances for the B team in pre season games.

Nwakali trained with the first team of the Portuguese side yesterday and there are even suggestions that he might make the bench for the main team for their league opener this weekend.

Signed on loan from Arsenal to the B team of the Portuguese giants, he made himself an option for the first team after scoring and bagging an assist in the two consecutive pre season games he played for the B team.

Spotted in training with the first team, Super Eagles World Cup 2018 defender Chidozie Awaziem was also among the group of players who were put through their paces by the coach of the team Sergio Conceicao.

The other Nigerian at the club Musa Yahaya played for the B team in a pre season game, same day the aforementioned duo of Nwakali and Awaziem trained with the first team.

Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho is ready to torment Manchester United once again

The Foxes striker has form for netting at Old Trafford with former club Manchester City

Kelechi Iheanacho says he has Manchester United in his sights once again.

The Leicester City striker heads to Old Trafford tonight hoping to replicate his previous goalscoring feat at the Theatre of Dreams.

Iheanacho created the opening goal for former Manchester City team-mate Kevin De Bruyne and then scored the second in a 2-1 derby-day defeat of United nearly two years ago.

And now, with City opening the 2018/19 Premier League campaign against Jose Mourinho's side tonight, he's hoping to notch against his old club's fierce rivals once again.

Leicester City live - Manchester United build-up, transfer deadline day reaction, Ulloa exit confirmed by Pachuca
"I think everyone is looking forward to that game," he said.

"Coming from Man City to Leicester and playing against Man United I think the City fans are going to support us in that game.

"I scored against United in the derby so it was a good experience and I am looking forward to hopefully doing it again."

Iheanacho says he is fit and firing ahead of tonight's clash, following on from a busy World Cup for the Nigerian international.

He started two of the Super Eagles' group stage matches , coming on as a substitute in their final games - a 2-1 defeat to Argentina that confirmed their exit in Russia.

The 21-year-old made just 21 Premier League appearances last season, but says his injury problems are now behind him.

"If I am chosen for the game against United I have to keep my goal-scoring record and work hard for the team," said Iheanacho.

“I would like to be part of it and am looking forward to it. I think it is going to be a big season for the whole team and we are in good shape now.

“Last season it was difficult coming back from injury and trying to get the same fitness level. Sometimes things don’t go the way you want. But it is looking good this season.

“I am injury-free and will keep working hard and am looking forward to the games.

“The World Cup helped — we didn’t get to go through but it was a good experience and good fitness.”

Expecting nothing less than 10 league goals from Nacho this season. He has had a full pre season so no excuses

TheSuperNerd:
Sir Terzurum5.... I can see that the title of the thread has been altered. Now it just reads "Afcon 2019".....

One question: After Afcon 2019 is done and dusted, will you again alter the thread title to Afcon 2021 or even Olympics 2020?

This thread was originally set out to cover all the events and stories and discussions surrounding our build up to Russia 2018 and Afcon 2019 so altering the thread name will only act to confuse folks the more. This thread is meant to end with Afcon 2019 no matter how big it has gotten just like how the previous thread ended with Afcon 2017 failed qualification. The threads we open are like Chronicles and archives of information that document our football stories and more and thus must be properly defined by specificity of threads created for a period.

And also, I wanna ask why you bowed to the pressure from Dad Icon4s to remove the phrase, "Dawn of a new era"... Or is it because we lost out in Russia??

Look, before the brightest Dawn is always the Dark nights... The darkness of the night is always thickest before the brightest Dawn... Our experience in Russia is a seed sown for this young team. I always said it was gonna be our BAPTISM of fire on the international stage. We have a team on the rise and more quality young talents are sprouting up in our football. Just take a look at Kalu's move for instance... You cannot deny the fact that a new dawn is coming. Even a goal.com article lists K.Nwakali as one of the young players of today's game to watch out for in Qatar 2022 (if we get there... But I know we will qualify). A new era is coming and Russia 2018 should not blind us to that fact... Maturity takes time and four years is more than enough. Afcon 2019 will show how much this team have truly grown post-Russia so please buckle up and get ready... A new era in Nigerian football is indeed close.
Good day Boss. It's been a while. On the matter you raised, let the whole house decide. It is what the whole house wants that we shall implement. Happy to have you back Doc.

Also, sorry for the late reply. My e-gadgets were stolen. I started coming on line recently.

Nigeria international forward Moses Simon has opened up on the reason behind his failed move to English Premier League side Liverpool in an exclusive chat with Owngoalnigeria.com.

Simon was heavily linked with a move to the Merseyside outfit but the move didn’t see the light of the day despite both clubs holding talks over a potential transfer.

Explaining to Owngoalnigeria.com, the 22 year old said the move didn’t materialise after Liverpool went cold on his chase as he will be a free player as early as January, and they would rather wait till then.

” I honestly thought the move was done and dusted. Talks progressed real quick between both parties but Liverpool were a bit reluctant later on and I guess they wanted to wait till January”, Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” It was something I thought about hardly but Gent did a lot for me and I need to consider what is best for them, hence my decision to insist on a move this summer for them to raise cash from my transfer”.

DONT MISS ==> Don't Blame Me For AFCON 2017 Qualification Failure, Blame Siasia
Speaking on his decision to join Levante despite interest from French Ligue 1 side St. Etienne, Simon said the La Liga is to him more attractive at this stage of his career than the French Ligue 1.

” Last season Levante defeated Barcelona and I watched the game. That was the moment I started noticing them even though I know of their presence in the La Liga. Ligue 1 is not a bad league and St. Etienne are not a bad club to be honest but for now La Liga looks best for me”, Simon concluded.

I see no reason why will no longer get invitations to the super eagles.
if players in China can be invited why not a Saudi based player? Saudi Arabia is even a better football nation than China.
So far Musa is performing well

Joebie:
How many public universities do we have? You mentioned 3 of the private ones you knew about, do you have first hand info on the other 67?
By saying the future I was speaking in the context of competition. Private universities are more likely to make changes to their curriculum with ease. You know with anything government owned na long thing. We shouldn’t be having this debate really. Education should be available to as much people as possible. It’s a good thing to have Private universities springing up, so we are left with choices. There should be many universities but at the same time well regulated to ensure they meet up to a standard.
There are ratings sir, there are organizati9ns that rate universities in Nigeria and the other 67 universities are not recognised most of the time because they are mushroom universities mostly.

Acquaint yourself with these ratings. If you are not talking ABUAD, Covenant or Babcock, you are not talking Private Universities. And you don't have first hand information about the hundreds of public universities to be sincere, but you slate them. It is the lecturers from Public Universities that teach in Private Universities, let me tell you now.

it is enough he is training with them first. He deserves accolades, many have been with the Team B for seasons and haven't gotten this opportunity, it speaks of how good he is.

Shey a week or so ago, I said we should celebrate him whether we agree with his move or not. Talent does not hide
