Hello everyone,

Please, when your sponsor (brother) is a Canadian citizen and lives there, is it a red flag on your study permit application?

My school wrote a letter addressed to the high commission in Lagos in order to try and help expedite the process. I uploaded the letter during the week.

Dear Wale,

Please so many people are looking for ways to tighten there way to contact the CIC, how did it happen, how were you able to control your school to give you this letter...what did you tell the your school?

It won’t help expedite it, by the time the VO reads your application and get to the letter, it will be the same time your application would have taken anyways. If you have need to expedite your application processing, send an email to CIC with that subject. They can expedite only in an emergency situation relating to the death or medical emergency of someone. They recommend you enclose a doctor’s report.

1) you have scholarship
2) you are going for PHD and as we have all discussed and agreed on this forum, PHD students has a higher chance of getting TRV than other categories of education.
3) VO make their decisions based on one or more factors. Having scholarship is not the reason an applicant will automatically get a TRV.
4) we don't know the full profile of your friend.
5) I also have faith. But we need to be scientific here. Everything we share should be logical and based on emperical evident.

Totally valid questions. This man claims his visa was approved not only without SOP, but no transcripts even though he was a first class student. He also claims your question about whether he had scholarship should have been self evident to you if you had been here on this forum for a while. These claims beats me ooh, maybe he should explain better. To my fullest recollection, I don’t remember any person with this moniker. But then I was on brake from the forum for two months. Maybe someone else knows this person?

My school gave me a letter too. Not to expedite my application, but to support it. I talked to my supervisor and he agreed to write it. Last minute before he sent it to me, he checked with the school and they informed him there is a protocol he has to undergo before doing that. The school told him such a letter had to be vetted by a board in the school. It went through the board and it was vetted before they gave him the green light to send to me. The letter talked about me been offered a full ride, his epertise in healthcare and experience on how that can be translated to the African setting. That is what I would be studying and returning to Nigeria to help with healthcare reform and other developmental issues. He talked about all that, my proposed thesis topic, the admission and scholarship selection process and all my qualifications and why they chose me. That’s about it!! Waiting to see if it works as from experience I have seen it work for others.

Not a must, I have seen people whose visa was approved without transcript. But at least those people enclosed a certificate of graduation so that at least the VO can know that they really studied what they said they studied in the University. At least the VO would have evidence there to trace progression instead of accepting one’s word on face value. This mysterious claim by this guy that he neither submitted a transcript or certificate or SOP and was approved is the first I have seen.

It sounds like something that should work. But am also looking forward to see if it will speed up their decision.

School resumes tomorrow, and I constantly update them via mails on the status of my visa. And they asked whether them writing a letter on my behalf would help and I agreed. That's how they sent me a letter addressed to the high commission.

Who knows. My guess is no. The VOs are the experts on foreign policy and know how long it is necessary to conduct background work and clear a student. So on the procedural, I think it won’t work. But on the substantive part of the application, I expect what the school has to say to carry significant weight.

Depending on what the letter said, it should help. If it is about expediting the application, I doubt they would be willing to put you ahead of applicants that came before you or ignore or shorten vetting process just to attend to you.

Good day nairalander.
So I got admission for a second degree to Canada, yet to apply for visa tho,
My question is: can’t I switch to a pgd course when I get to Canada I studied information technology in gh and applied for computer science in Cana. Will it affect me canalegally Canada legally) speaking? because when I get visa it would be a 4 year visa because it’s a 4 year course. but I will end up switching to a 2 year course.

Thanks for thy reply

Yes. You should leave that Consultant ICCRC number box empty, if you did not use the services of an ICCRC Consultant. Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) is the national regulatory body designated by the government of Canada in July 2011, to regulate Canadian immigration, citizenship and international student advising services.

[quote author=khrisgraphix post=70204995]Please i need to understand what went wrong

this is very complicated:
1. who is your sponsor and how many dependents are under him/her?
2. do you have any study gaps?
3. did you write any sop and what was your main objective for choosing the program and what you intend to do with it after

this needs clarification. if you can answer and rectify this then you can submit a new application

You can state that the property will devolve on you afterwards. But seriously, you can just use the fact that your parents and all siblings are in Nigeria as a home tie and it will surely fly.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Olayemudia: 8:50pm On Aug 12, 2018
My advice is that he can state on his letter that he will ensure you return home to take good care of your aged Parents. His letter could show the strong reason why you gat to go home.

You have HOPE, just choose a province that speak French. I am still waiting to hear a testimony of approval without admission letter.

*Approval without Admission letter*? Lol. But, on a second note, it isn't beyond possibility. So long as a process is handled by human beings, errors can slip in one way or the other. But the percentage error in this regard is definitely going to be less than 1%.

Good day to everyone. Please I have an issue I am trying to resolve. I hold a National diploma in mechanical engineering technology from a federal polytechnic. I use to work in a bank, but I am currently the manager of one of the biggest tourial centers in Benin and I earn 50k monthly. Thing is, I have always wanted to study hospitality management, I even worked as a customer care representative in one of the biggest hotels in Benin before I started my ND program. I finally decided to apply for a diploma in hospitality and tourism management at a Canadian college( still expecting a positive response from them). I am twenty one.

My question is, does this make sense?? Should I simply "Edit" my ND from my profile ?? Note that I graduated from secondary school in 2014, got admitted in 2015 for my ND and graduated in 2017.
