Went to embassy on 13th June, and due to public holidays, they requested for supplementary on 19th June. After few days, I submitted the supplementary and was granted RP the next day.

Mine was really fast that it amazes me even now.

I will honestly advise you to consider other better countries such as US, Canada, Norway, and Australia if you're going to study for a Ph.D. I hope you have good academic standing.

You'll still have a chance in some US and Canadian universities, just try to engage in some research activities and maybe submit articles for publishing. Just avoid coming to Finland, If you must travel out of Nigeria... Just a brotherly advice for you. I have been there (though I have a good experience due to over smartness), but I see what people pass through, but most of them won't tell you what they experience in order not to discourage you.

Many thanks for the information information, I have one journal publication already and five others are awaiting publication. I seem to have a dearth of information.
Any information or useful threads here on nairaland will be greatly appreciated. My discipline is economics

What's your CGPA? If your publications are in high-impact journals, you can look at some UK universities, most have rolling admission policies and you can benefit from Commonwealth scholarship award (search for it online). But you will have to search for US universities that have strong economics programs and reach out to their faculty members for funding opportunities and their willingness to mentor/supervise your PhD study. I'm in Engineering and don't know much about schools with economics programs, that's your responsibility to take, you have to search on google and get contacts (that's part of research).

I guess that's what you call PhD grade? If so, you should be fine depending on your bachelor's degree and GRE score.

In case any of you is coming to Finland and needs Euro here, do let me know. You'll pay into my account in Nigeria while I transfer into your account/pay you cash when you get to Finland, your choice.

Hi guys. I'm new here.

I need some information on medical insurance. I read it's €30,000. That's roughly N12.3million. How much does it actually cost to get it from Aiico and Swiss care? I went to Swiss care website but I don't get it.

Don't worry, I can do it for you at €15,000, pay N6.15m into my GTB account Name- Mugu Maga Suomi, Number-0123456789. Anyways, the best is AIICO which costs you about N30,000. Go to their website or any closest office and buy travel insurance for Schengen countries. The €30,000 is the maximum amount you can claim from the insurer in case you fall sick when you're in Finland.

I hate Finnish culture and maybe dislike the people. Africans who marry them are mostly managing and I believe they complain. If I would advise you, I'll say don't even consider marrying a Finn. However it's your choice. Your question is about rude, seems you don't know how to use please just as them.

well just keep applying for PhD positions. you might be lucky. you may want to consider applying for another masters too. its easier to get phd positions when you have a masters there
