Good day everybody in d house. Since yesterday I found out about this forum, I have been enjoying myself with your up building comments and hope. Thanks you all. My name is Eugene. My issue is these: am expecting a visitation visa and presently am working with a contractor under oil and gas yet I am not his company staff. No tax is deducted from my pay but he do credit me tru bank and the work is not regular. Am married with two kids. In this respect, what are the likely documents needed to present or package that will suit or tangibly qualify me for this. Plz help

This is not a visa packaging thread.... As you can see, this is a thread for people with U.S Visa, planning to travel or have traveled already and willing to share the experience at the POE with us.
Thank you

If you're trying to avoid scam, you should invest in research.... we have different site to check flight to U.S and the cheapest flight to U.S till then will not be less than N305,000, you won't see anything below that amount.
As for the site you can try Wakanow, Travelstart, Skyscanner and the airline websites.

Good luck.

Never mind... Goodluck with your research.. just in case of another time... almost every trip to U.S originating from Nigeria should have a return date.

I am sorry, your post was unnecessary.

A one way ticket doesn't require a return date. You should know this by now. Just so you know, a student on an F1 visa going for a degree which requires at least 2 years to complete doesn't need a two-way ticket.

Thank you

She never said she was a student on F1 and I thought she was looking at next year not December...

P.S: After going through the timeline I think the confusion came from ''Oyi2'' questions and ''Sunshineluv2'' continuation of the discussion.
My fault for not asking Sunshineluv2 the necessary questions thinking it's same with Oyi2.
My apologies.

You never mentioned you're traveling on a F1 student visa until someone pointed it out while I was fuming here thinking you're playing around with date.

It's okay... One thing you need to know about one way ticket especially from Nigeria is that if return ticket to JFK is N350K, one way ticket for such trip will be around N250K or more.
Your best bet is flying into Chicago and fly to Minneapolis or take a bus. I checked Wakanow and the cheapest fare for that date is Turkish airways N332K and return for that date is N388K.

Please I'm going for a conference too with my family. I was given 2 years. Can we stay and process our stay? Please how do we get our stat after the conference?

This is really unfortunate! Stay and process your stay in the US on a visitor's visa? How can you make a comment like this in a public space with your first name and surname? POE officers know about nairaland! They probably visit this site to read up and stay updated with Naija US travel trends!

Brother, I have a small concern I am hoping you can help clarify. My wife and I applied for US B1/B2 visas and we were granted same back in January 2017.

We explained to the visa officer during our interview that we will be travelling during the Easter of 2017 for a vacation but that we also intend to make enquiries in Houston about giving birth in the US.

However, wifey and I didn't get pregnant and an opportunity came to travel to Australia in October 2017 which we preferred. This year 2018, we have been to the UK but we never really had reason to go to the US.

Our US visas will expire in Jan 2019 and I am concerned that we may have renewal issues if we appear to have wasted the 2 years we were initially granted.

So, I have arranged to travel to Houston in September 2018 for a one-week training and my wife will accompany me. The training is legit., company sponsored etc.

However, two of my colleagues in the office claim they were grilled at POE to the point of humiliation because they hadn't travelled for a while on their US visas. One of them was so offended that he claimed he told the CBP officers point blank that he would rather return to Nigeria instead of enduring further humiliation.

Then at that point, the CBP officers allegedly calmed down, treated him more respectfully and eventually cleared him.

I don't want my wife and I to suffer a similar fate. Should we engage the US embassy before travelling and inform them of our changed travel circumstances? Or should we just plough ahead to POE and hope no similar issues arise?
