Hello, i got admitted for MSc. If my Parents are my sponsor, is there need for the money to stay in the account for 28 days? Thanks
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Zoey1: 5:09pm On Aug 16, 2018
Any money you use for maintenance (tuition fees and living costs) must be in your account for a consecutive period of 28 days. During the 28-day period this money cannot drop below the required amount for even 1 day or you will not meet the Home Office requirements and your application will be refused.

Your bank statement must be no more than 31 days old on the date of your application.
Meaning...... The 28days counts before you submit application.
I have read people here who got denied thinking the period before biometrics adds towards 28days, it does not.
28days before submission of your visa application.

Renee25:

To the gurus in the house, is the 28-day mark strictly before application or could it be before the interview? I just realized that mutual funds are not allowed, which is where my money has been all this while. Now I have to transfer the money to a cash account and wait another 28 days. I already applied for a visa though and chose an appointment day. Would you advise that I cancel the application and start afresh after the 28days or just reschedule my appointment while I wait for the 28days to elapse?
If I cancel, would I get a refund? and how long would a refund take?
Also, my initial intended date of travel was 18th September, but that wont be possible anymore. If I just reschedule what happens to this date? School starts on the 24th, but apparently, I'll be late
Please someone should help me out cos I'm really confused at the moment.

@Justwise, @OlowoB, @Laajiblik.... and UK residents....
Please if you do use City Mappers.
Why does Hertfordshire gets in the map as inside London and Cambridge from same region says out of London.
Kind of curious.
Even UKVI tells me maintainance for Herts is.
£1265 and Anglia Ruskin £1065, both are in East of England
Am I right?

So please what do you suggest I do now?

If you can reschedule your biometric for the next 28 days that should be alright, but read through the guidelines though. When is your resumption date??

Hello guys!

I noticed tb certificate was not ticked on my checklist but was ticked on my wife's. I presented every document and they were all scanned right before my eyes.

How can I correct this?

I don't live in Lagos and don't know exactly what to do.

Could anyone be of help?

If all your docs are scanned into the system then that is the most important thing and not whether its ticked or not

Southern part of Hertfordshire shares border with greater London hence the £1265 maintenance money, that county is expensive thanks to the proximity to London. I don't know any cheap city in that county even Hemel Hempstead that is closer to Luton or Watford is an expensive place to live.

Thanks for this breakdown. My 28 days period just mature today. And my appointment date is booked next week. Hope my statement will still be valid for next week appointment? I'm really curious about this. Your swift response will be highly appreciated.

My resumption date is 24th of September. I have already cancelled the application as the right thing to do is get the statement before booking an appointment. Problem is I dont know if I'll get a refund.

Thanks for the clarification. I have cancelled the application. But I dont know if I will get a refund. Would my health surcharge reference work for my next application?

1. If you haven’t attended the Biometric capture/documents submission and/or interview, your monies will be refunded.
2. Nope. You will have to pay fresh IHS with the new application.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by mimilyrics: 3:44pm On Aug 17, 2018
The 28 day rule for funds is strictly before the submission of your online application. Funds must have spent 28 days in your account before you submit online.
As long as you've submitted your online application before the money hits 28 days in your account, your application will be refused on the grounds that you didn't hold the money for 28 days.
Rescheduling your visa interview and document submission doesn't change it.
I suggest that you cancel your appointment, wait for the money in your account to hit 28 days, submit a new application, Go for your interview and wait for your visa.

The money paid in the previous application will be refunded but might not hit your account till about 4-8 weeks so don't rely on using that to pay for your new application.

That's wrong. It's 28 days before the submission of an application online.

umarwy:

28 days before before your biometrics/interview date.

IHS takes about 28 working days and the visa could take more than 60 working days

Pls go back to TLS or send it to Sheffield.
This is to avoid a situation where Sheffield won't receive it (Maybe because the TLS staff missed sending it or something) and you don't have evidence that you submitted it. The checklist is your evidence.
And not all ECOs request for missing documents before making decisions so please and please, send to Sheffield if you can't get confirmation or an updated checklist that shows that you submitted your TB test from TLS.

Thanks a lot. I've cancelled it. How do I cancel that of the IHS? Or will the refund happen automatically with that of the visa?

If the money in their account had always been greater than the required amount over twenty eight days required you can use it to apply but if it had fallen below it at any point in twenty Countjng the twenty eight days back then you will have to start a new counting
