You might be right but also put the following into consideration:
In 2015, dollar was N200, now dollar is N350 and most of the sensitive materials will be imported.

Consider price of fuel from N97 to 145 per litter

Even the Amala and Gbegiri soup the policemen will eat will be imported too?

on inec's budget...meals for police

Let's do some Maths people.

N6,000,000,000 / N1,000 per meal = 6,000,000 meals.

6,000,000 meals / 2 days of elections = 3,000,000 policemen

Let's assume the policemen are fed twice daily. That means:
3,000,000 / 2 meals = 1,500,000 policemen.

What do you think of this?

This is absolute fraud. The figures here are just balistic in numbers. Printing of ballot paper alone, see the figure? Feeding policemen nko? Continuous Voters Registration alone is just absurd considering the way the CVR exercise has carried out and millions of people are disenfranchised.

For me, any transparent exercise is not even half the amount needed. Uk conducts elections and it wont even disturb a days normal activity not to mention US. i believe the budget is over bloated and a means to siphone money. Its as simple as that.

After approving that much, they will now deploy security forces to intimidate and subdue voters again, mba men.

What then happen to the surplus after the election?

Kindly explain.

Normally, it should be returned to the treasury. Sure, I know this is Nigeria and a lot can/would happen. But enough have to be there for them to succeed in the exercise.

Quite exorbitant. INEC should do well to reduce costs.

#6Billion for feeding of Policemen, #700Million for Foreign observers.
And the Police Force will also have a budget for their Officers that would be on election duty that day. Also, election observers, foreign or local, will normally take care of themselves so that they can offer an objective, independent opinion of the election process. It's not up to INEC to take care of foreign observers.
This is obviously a well padded budget. Some people just want to siphon money by using the 2019 election as cover.

Let's do some Maths people.

N6,000,000,000 / N1,000 per meal = 6,000,000 meals.

At least 300,000 police officers will be needed for the election.
We have 119,973 PU and every PU will be manned by "at least" 1 policeman. All the RAC/Collation centers will have police officers in their Tens, Patrol unit, Anti terrorism units, logistic team etc.

So " 6,000,000,000/300000 = 20,000 per police officer for Over 8days: two days before the election + Election day + A day after election (when results will be announced ) (morning-Afternoon-Night). For both Federal and state elections.

20,000/ 24meals = 833/meal.

Why did they make provision of #700million for foreign observers? I'm sure foreign observers and local ones will prefer to take care of themselves to maintain their independence. The Police Force would normally budget for their Officers. This is a padded budget.

Hehehehe... Dis one is a strong something... How can a budget dat doesn't include card readers be higher than d one dat included card readers??
94million for SMS?? Are they texting Nigerians d results??
How exactly are voter Education, Outreach activities and Interface with groups budgeted for differently?? Aren't dey all d same thing?
Over 7Billion budgeted for logistics and dey shamelessly included 55mil for logistics technical Officers??
Dis ppl will finish us by d tym dey are done..

Premium route cost N2.6 per SMS which can't be delayed by DND.

So do the maths....if SMS is being sent to average eligible mobile users...let say 35millions users..That's 90million, so it's nothing my brother...Though some expenses might be inflated but this SMS, I am sure of it....except the team that will be in charge of this get a cheaper route to pocket extra change for themselves

Calm down. We all know all those figures have been terribly inflated but making your maths and calculations elementary enough let's do it this way. Based on assumption that we have 300,000 and let's also assume they will all be deployed. 6 billion divided by 300,000 police officers would equal 20,000 naira per officer. Now the elections would be for two days I guess. We both know that those guys are entitled to 3 meals per day that is how any standard organization settles her staff when they are on any out of office assignment. Now divide the 20,000 by 6 that gives you 3,300 naira approximately per meal for each offficer. The question I will put to all good Nigerians including you is this. HOW MUCH PER MEAL SHOULD WE HAVE BUDGETED FOR EACH POLICE OFFICER ON THE AVERAGE?

2Bn for salaries - we have atleast 4 Inec ad-hoc staff in a polling unit with a combined salary of 70k per polling unit. The 2Bn is justifiable.

What I don't understand is 6Bn for feeding police men. We have an average of two police men per polling unit Pls are they giving them 70k each to feed in sheraton?
Please how can we justify this?

An election where card readers are not purchased is more expensive than one where there was a nationwide rollout of card readers.

If you have never worked as an ad hoc staff of INEC, you might think they want to syphon the funds. Election is expensive to conduct from feeding to logistics, research, training, accommodations and deployment of staff/security personnel. Democracy is expensive.
I wish INEC the best in the forthcoming election.
