It's not really as difficult as people always take it to... My own Redmi Note 4 have been bricked before and still comeback to life when I have even lost all hope. The only thing is that we black people are always lazy to read and do simple research. To me, flashing, rooting and the likes is one of the easiest things to do

Was it not your device that got bricked and you almost put that same device up for sale(after trying everything you think you knew) in that bricked state until someone on here helped you? Yes it is good to use custom roms if you KNOW your way around it but you don't expect noobs to be encouraged to tinker with their phones or do you?

Yes... It is and I didn't regret it then because it was by was by own mistake( flashing Redmi 4X rom on note 4x) and sure if the person that brought my phone back to life have had this same mentality like most people here have, it wouldn't be able to do anything on the phone.
Mind you, I root the phone immediately I got it back and put miuipro on it

There are two variants of the chinese version; the one that comes with Chinese rom and the one that gets the bootloader unlocked and flashed with global rom.

1.Chinese Version with Chinese rom
2.Chinese version with Global rom

Seyema, I still fail to get the point you are trying to make. Great that you could root and flash a custom ROM on your phone and that is simply because you KNOW your way around it. What mentality are you even referring to? An average person wants to be able to literally "plug n play" his or her brand new device and if they by any chance want to explore their phones it is on them to do extensive research and see if it will be worth it and fwiw no one has "come at" people talking about custom ROMs, we just plead that it should be limited cos noobs would get confused.

I want to say a big thank you to @Noobody,
I saw him on this thread back in April when i wanted to Order Leeco le2pro, ever since then he's been my go to guy for Aliexpress deals, never met him before, never spoke to him before, but he gave me that "you can trust me" response.
Ordered my new phone the Mi Max 2 on the First of August! And i got it today grin Even though the post office man didn't inform us it has arrived since 14thangry it will be ungrateful of me (after 14 item purchase) not to say thank you in the thread i found his contact, And for the lovely people that made me meet such a nice person! I say thank you all.

Cheers

When switching from China to Global Rom, must it be with fastboot?
Yes, unless you want to root and flash with a custom recovery like TWRP.

Are you sure it's not the other way round? I have been searching frantically for a dope theme on this Chinese Rom for like 2 days now to no avail. Can you please list out some cool ones?
Unfortunately am not on Chinese rom. Can you read Chinese, if yes, then..

did i hear u saying *we black people*, do u think an average white man do root? .... for all i know, longer throat is proportional to rooting, not laziness for reading and research....

My point is that other members should not discouraged anyone that is trying to root and flash custom rom on there phone. An average person want choose to use there phone the way it come because they don't know anything about custom rom and its advantages.

I use to see some annoying ads in my phone file manager when I'm still using miui dev rom, my phone lags alot with crappy SOT but the rest is history now since I flash miuipro
