its not about rebuking the child.African parents don't know the difference between rebuking a Child,emotionally abusing a child and insults... Parents think insults is correction and those harsh words break a child who isn't emotionally stable. Parents need to mind what they say to their Kids.not that you can't correct or scold them,do it in moderation and be mindful of what you say to them in the name of scolding

Words like asewo
Omo oshi,useless child,failure, olodo,oniranu,eranko,big for nothing, useless girl,agbaya are common words parents say to their kids which is enough to break them because they look to you for comfort and emotional security and when the very people they love say things like this to them they go hay wire.

As a kid my mom used to call me olodo and me too was beginning to think I was but the moment I went to school and my teacher told me I can succeed in any subject I started believing her and that perception of me changed. When my mom scolded me and called me olodo,I showed her my result (I was in secondary school) that was the last time she said that. Parents don't know the amount of power they have in their mouth to make or mar a Child instead they just talk any how . I am very sure the parents of this girl are narcistic parents
