Would you believe me if I told you that is definitely not his real name? Okay, I'll explain a bit. It's definitely a Diamond Yhello Account (DYA), such account can be created from anywhere in Nigeria using a registered MTN sim, they don't even need to visit the bank. They (scammers) would buy an MTN sim, register it with entirely fake details and create a Diamond Yhello Account (in the process of the account creation, Diamond bank imports the registered details on the sim from MTN onto its server for the DYA created using the sim). The only valid information on the account would be the photo of the person that was taken during sim registration. I got to know about DYAs because I got scammed of 74k on here too, and I very much believe it's the same person or gang that did same to you. I would have advised you on what to do but I know they've learnt from what I did to them and must have adjusted. Just so you know DYAs don't have BVN, tracing the account holder would be a bit difficult even for the banks because they don't have concrete information of who owns the account, no KYC on most DYAs.
if the account is not BVN linked, then diamond bank is culpable in this crime. What nonsense of a banking system does Nigerian work on anyways. angry..

If Nigeria's banking system dares to go entirely cashless, scammers will experience a quick rise on Forbes rankings.

Get a police report and take steps to freeze his account. With BVN attached to his account, you can reach more than his Diamond Bank account. Thanks k me later

And you had to explain in details on how the process is done so that other scammers can learn it and go about scamming innocent people with this method thereby making it hard to track them, and what makes you think only one set of scammers operate on nairaland, what were you thinking sef.

Chairman! Avoid any transaction on here or any faceless forum with anybody banking with Diamond bank. That is the idea of the whole explanation.

A scammer would scam you irrespective of the method, it's in them already. Now that you've known the method/process, would you scam people using it? Of course you would if you are already a thief and then again you wouldn't if you're not a thief.

One of the ways of knowing them is that they will decline escrow or try to talk u out of it.
Once u see that the account was newly created and he/she declines escrow, it is a double red flag. Run
Guys be careful.
