Why do you guys refer to igbos as Okoro, the name is not limited to igboid alone, It's also an Edoid word, and also answered in Eastern Yoruboid dialect , thou a corrupt word is now used in ilaje, but okoro is still used in Itsekiri. Bini seems to use the corrupt word also.

I only knew it as an Idemili thing. We don't kill pythons around that area. We've caught a few in our compound in the village and used long sticks to relocate them to the bush. It's an easy injunction to follow because the pythons are not particularly harmful. But if I saw a venomous snake whose venom could kill me, no mad tradition would ever stop me from squashing its head.

The truth is that Python don't bite. Throughout my my life in the village till I left I didn't hear that Python bite someone. If it enters your house you use stick to remove it, some guys will even use hand to carry it to the bush where it's released.

I'm from abatate in idemmili north and attest to this. We don't kill a python. When you see one you offer kola and say it should go that Christians (ndi uka) are around and it will quietly leave. Most of the time it comes to pay its homepage to a new born baby.

Exactly.pythons are common sights in my village and I never heard that they hurt anyone.they crawl into homes and little kids just put sticks near them n they curl up the sticks which the kids take out.some just lift them with their hands n take them out.

Pythons are very intelligent animals. Don't underestimate those long animals

The reason why pythons are not killed in that community is because they want to fight laziness, pythons are big and very slow, so it is very easy to kill, so if you are a good hunter you either hunt the weak and fast animals ie antelops or the slow but strong ones like lions and leopards.
