Fast forward to today, I have not seen any policeman carrying baton. All of them AK47. Why?

Cops in the usa are well protected, good protective gears, insurance, well paid, so, as we compare to these guys in developed worlds, we should also protest for their well being..

if they arent well taken care of, they know their job can take their lives anytime, they will not change o. They will always find a way to do bad things just like other nigerians do.

As for Nigerian police they all carry ak47 with 30 rounds in a magazine, when encountered by a stubborn suspect all they have is an assault riffle.

I once read a retired US Police man who served for 35 years say he never used his side arm.

In the western world security is all mostly about intelligence and least about force but here it's all about force and almost no intelligence.

no naija police police will be paid 250k per month. Wetin.
The police people causing all d wahala are the junior officers. Senior officers are those that are recruited at BSc or HND level.
Its bad that some that have degrees enlist for junior officers where there's space, with hope of converting. Which rarely comes.
For a senior police officer to earn 250k per month, he must have been in service for 20-30 years. No junior officer can ever dream of such amount.
The money budgeted for police is mainly for infrastructure, training and development, not their salary.

It's in my country that security outfit called SARS that was meant for Special Anti Robbery Squad turned to Anti human Squad. I have witnessed where these idiots called SARS went to a shop and carted away all the wines and called it fake wine. I have see these fools seen two young men arguing by the road side with no single blow exchanged SARS jumped in and arrest them everybody around were shocked. Just to mention few.

It's so unfortunate Nigeria descended these low. I guess bro Idris will stand his ground and be very intolerant to any default SARS demons. As a matter of fact I would have love it if SARS can be scrap outrightly it's of no use.

Can u imagine? The police is more important to Nigeria than the military...becus most of our security challenges are internal based.

It is a pity that an average police officer cant build a house if he is to live with his salary for 35 years...

It is also a pity that most of them die in duty and their families forgotten..
